A gig, during the day, in a city centre can only mean☝️ thing! Time to take the train! A rare opportunity for me, as I'm normally finishing late, have to take my kit, or the venue is too far out of the public transport network.

Yesterday I was in for a lunch event at The Crowne Plaza Hotel. I arrived early, and stopped off for a coffee at Sugar Junction in the Northern Quarter, and then went off to the event, which was a really fun get together and everyone was really friendly.

might be interested to know that I parsed down by normal close up kit to a few essentials, but still managed to have in mind 3 routines that could play for a larger group, if required. What would you have chosen that fits that brief?

How is The Magic Room, like The Universe ♾️?

They say the universe is always expanding! And guess what, so is The Magic Room. Here's three big announcements!

1. We're hosting our first Christmas Special 🎄 Christmas Jumpers, welcome!
2. We're making The Magic Room monthly from 2025!
3. We're providing The Magic Room as part of Bromsgrove Arts in April 2025 (image shown below, from a recent solo show there).

My life as a can sometimes get a bit hectic with shows and events, so sometimes it’s great to just kick back and catch up on a bit of reading! , of course! I love to pair my reading with a matcha latte, and in this case, a Biscoff Wagon Wheel (I need to have a go at making these!)

Last week I booked in 12 shows! What? That's crazy, right? Well, the 12 shows are my regular magic night that I co-host with We've been getting some fantastic feedback about 'the most unique night out in Lichfield' and so we're really pleased to be moving to a monthly format. This should be easy to remember - every 4th Wednesday of the month from 2025.

We're kicking off though, with a Christmas Special on Tuesday 10th December. Christmas jumpers, t-shirts, shirts, dresses, hats definitely appreciated and encouraged!

I had a load of fun last week performing at the VIP Launch Party for in Nottingham. Great people, great food. That's what it's all about, right? Totally aligns with my philosophy for life, anyway! Another couple of photos from the weekend here, and the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival, where I was booked to perform at thanks to .je ← IG / Showstoppers.je ← FB. I provided a mix of and for this annual event celebrating the town and it's history.

Did you know that The Iron Bridge was built in 1779 (opened to the public in 1781) and was the first major bridge to made of cast iron, anywhere in the world. The bridge and the surrounding area are a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1 of only 35 in the whole of the UK). Also, you may remember the bridge as black - well it was restored to it's original red colour in 2018. If not, well you have learnt something new today!

Thanks to Showstoppers (.je / Showstoppers.je) for booking me for The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival (Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival) this weekend, and everyone involved in organising this really well run and very well attended event. You even managed to bring the sunshine 🌞 which from a performer point of view is always a bonus for an outdoor stage. I loved meeting everyone, and chatting with them during the close up magic, and performing on stage, with my magic, and this colourful rainbow streamer ending!

So pleased that myself and have been organising The Magic Room for nearly a whole year now. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the magicians who have performed and especially to all of the great audience members who have laughed along with us. Without you 🫵 we would just be crazy people standing in a room by ourselves! (sometimes I still feel it's little crazy to be a full time magician, but all in a good way). Pizzas, Ice-Cream, a bar, a DJ, Carnival Games and A MAGICIAN (← that was me, in case it wasn't obvious). I've just spent a lovely afternoon entertaining staff at their annual staff appreciation day for GrandVision (aka. Vision Express). It was a super chilled out day and I really enjoyed chatting and laughing with everyone and, of course, sharing my magic and dancing around the maypole 🤣 kidding - the background of my selfie is actually a 'Test Your Strength' game (which I avoided!)

Did you know that about 6 years ago, I released my first set of lecture notes, teaching some of my professional routines, and ideas to other - this week, a magician from the USA emailed me to ask about one of the tricks in my notes, which is a great thing for two reasons: 1. My 'philosophy' of magic, has always been about conversation, and I love to talk magic with both potential clients, and magicians! 2. I feel that my magic is, if even in a small way, reaching across continents. I regularly teach and mentor magicians, but I know that some of my magician friends released some of their material in the pastm, but so far, I've only done this small project. I regularly teach and mentor magicians, but the interaction this week, has inspired me to look at further ways I can share my magic with the wider magic community.
