Just when you think, "Ooo, it's finally summer, might be time to consider organising Rock the Party 3.0, in comes a rain-soaked Rishi..."

Just wanted to make a quick post to thank everyone who has supported Rock the Party in any capacity, from promoting, to performing, to attending, to engaging.

Huge thanks again to Café INDIE for allowing us to promote young artists especially and for the ethos you bring to the High Street.

Thank you to Foz for helping with the first event. I learnt yonks.

Hello, everyone!

Just want to say another huge thank you to everyone who attended our second gig last night.

For transparency: after paying the venue hire we made over £500 that will go to the local Labour Party's general election campaign.

Regardless of why you came, whether that was the cause or for a good night or even that you came without knowing it was a fundraiser, thank you a million. The positive feedback received was amazing to hear. That some felt the night was a bargain, too, is really awesome to hear. One of our values with Rock the Party is Accessibility (as well as Quality), and knowing that a great night can be had for cheap in the name of a good cause.

Huge thank you goes to the performers, who were great to work with, incredibly friendly and cooperative with each other, it was absolutely lovely to be a part of.

Huge thanks to Café INDIE for their cooperation with us for the fundraiser. Having your support as a local cooperative business, as a youth work and volunteer project, and as an in general great place to be - all of that has made it a blast once again.

And of course a huge thank you to our would-be headliners Scarlet Oblivion and to their lead singer Lucy. Hope you're starting to get better, mate! (Pst, we're thinking August/September for the next one maybe but don't say anything, yeah?)

Less than 1 sleep till the day of the fundraiser gig!!!

Big shoutout to Leif and Outdated who on Tuesday performed at INDIE Scenes’ first event to a thundering audience.

They started working with Rock the Party 2 near the beginning and have made huge contributions drumming up interest and bringing us to a younger crowd. Big thanks, people!

Head down to Café INDIE this evening and come support some amazing young performers, including Outdated and Leif who will be performing for Rock the Party 2 on Saturday as well!

INDIE Scenes is a new programme through the Indie that is helping young people develop their confidence performing and to hone their abilities. It’s a fantastic addition to Indie’s already exemplary volunteer and youth programmes.

Before continuing with this post, we just want to say a huge thank you to Scarlet Oblivion who sadly won’t be performing with us on the 2 March. Their lead singer Lucy is very ill at the moment.

Lucy has been a close friend of Rock the Party since its inception, and we hope that she has a swift recovery.

We are very fortunate to have positive news regarding the event, however, as we will now be having Mike Love Sam joining us. Their Instagram can be found below. It means a lot to receive your support.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I’m afraid there has been some bad news. Scarlet Oblivion have had to pull out of the event due to illness. We’re in the process of recruiting some more local talents, however, so we fight on!

We’ve reached 70 respondents!

Thank you to everyone who has responded to the event and who has helped advertise our fundraiser gig

We had about 70 people join us last time in total, so it looks like we may be in for not only a more fun night but also a much busier one!

This helps not only Rock the Party and the local Labour Party in our endeavours. It also helps Leif, Outdated , Cure For Conspiracy and Scarlet Oblivion reach a much larger audience, as well as supports Café INDIE to keep their amazing youth and volunteer projects going.

And we’ve done it, people! We only launched the event last Friday evening and it has already matched our previous event’s total responses!

This is so heartwarming to see and bodes very well for the event. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting our fundraiser, whether that’s in solidarity for the cause or simply because it looks like a great night ☺️

Of course, responses are one thing—attending is another.

Just over 24 hours since Rock the Party 2 officially launched and the response has already been incredible.

Within this time, Rock the Party 2 has had 37 respondents. Just 11 more and it will overtake our first event—which took a whole month to get to 48!

Even if we subtract the business accounts that have responded in support of the event (the four or so of you who have responded via these—thank you!), the response rate from people’s personal accounts is still remarkably high.

Thank you again to everyone for their support. The funds for this event will be crucial in our endeavour to help rebuild the Red Wall. Every respondent is a brick towards this endeavour.

Rock the Party had a smashing debut at Café INDIE yesterday evening!

Not sure when we'll look at putting on another fundraiser and gig but the reception to this one was so heartwarming and just what Judith, Foz and I were hoping to capture.

Very happy with turnout, and the good vibes expressed by everyone who came—that they felt safe and loved the bands. Some people were new to Indie, or had returned to it after a long hiatus, so we're chuffed that everyone had such a great night. Many conversations were had, especially about seeing another, positive side to the Scunthorpe High Street.

Thank you again to Shoulders of Giants (Ace Of Kings) for stepping in for Lucy Evison (from In Denial and Scarlet Oblivion), to ELE, to CCB, to Indie, and, of course, to the audience for being so amazing.

We raised over £100 (after venue hire costs), which will go towards Labour's efforts at the next general election. And most importantly, we brought people to the Café, to the High Street, and to the nightlife community that is such an underappreciated part of Scunthorpe's charms.

Hi, everyone! IMPORTANT UPDATE.

Two more sleeps till we Rock the Party (we hope you cringe as much as we do at that joke). Find us at Café INDIE on the 15th September from 7pm till late (£5 on door for entry).

Sadly, Lucy Evison (from In Denial and Scarlet Oblivion) will no longer be able to perform with us on the 15th.

But fret not . . .

In her place, Foz and the lead singer of their band Ace Of Kings (they go by the alias, 'Shoulders of Giants') will be performing for us instead, alongside CCB and ELE.

We just want to give Lucy a huge thank you for all her hard work, helping Rock the Party be as excellent a debut fundraiser and gig as it can be. She has been a treasure, generating interest in the event and working hard with Foz in particular on a selection of songs.

Although it is a shame that she will not be performing this time around, we sure hope to see her rock with us another time, hopefully in the near future. (Is it too early to get excited about a possible Rock the Party, No. 2?)

Thank you again to Shoulders of Giants for stepping in last minute to keep Rock the Party strong. They bring with them their own calibre of local talent that you won't want to miss.

A huge round of applause to the Café INDIE volunteers and staff, especially the sound-guy Sid, who all worked the incredible marathon of an event, Westview Live. Doors were at 4pm, and it finished at 11pm.

Hopefully, they’re having the rest they deserve!

Westview Live was such an amazing gig to attend. Like listening to a double album in one go, it was exhausting in the most exhilarating way.

Featuring SIX bands (The Chase, The Kairos, Girlband, Dirty Blonde, Marseille, and Kingsway), Westview Live filled the venue, and so many people remained for the entire duration.

Each band was genuinely fantastic and brought with them not only their own sounds and styles but their own cultures and voices—their own blends of genre, influenced by their multicultural roots and hometowns.

It was such a pleasure to see and hear it all brought to our community in Scunthorpe, localised entirely in our Café.

And we responded in kind and made the night all the more magnificent with our participation and love for the music.

Big shoutout to DJ’s BHS International for keeping the energy high during the intervals and at the start of the night.
