With the sun shining this morning it really did feel like Spring was here. I even had a little bee 🐝 in my greenhouse although I think he/she decided to go back to sleep after a short buzz round! Made me excited for the warmer weather, the longer days, the pottering in the garden after tea and a garden full of colour. 🤗🌸🐝

I’ve done it… gone out!! Started with a few Ranunculus and Anemones with a bit of protection… very excited to begin filling my lovely new beds with colour! 😜🌸

Welcome little ladybirds 🐞 to my garden. Ladybirds hibernate during the winter months and this year I’ve been finding them in my house! I felt bad putting them back outside but the heated home is not the best place for them. I found them a sheltered spot in the garden so they could wake up naturally as the weather warmed up. I wonder if these two were two of my house guests?! 🤔😊🐞

This living wreath was created on a willow base with spring bulbs and flowers. The brief was to create a sustainable tribute for a flower farmer. This piece was my entry for last year’s World Skills competition and took me through to the next round. There my journey ended but I loved creating this piece so much that I think this was the moment I decided I wanted to work with British flowers and sustainable techniques. So the next chapter begins… I’m hoping my flower patch will be blooming this year and I can progress my hobby into something a little bit more!

An early Spring door wreath with primroses, Spring bulbs including Snowdrops, Muscari and daffodils and a few fresh Spring flowers. I've got it hanging in my utility at the moment to keep it out of the frost and it's making the whole room smell gorgeous!
