Calling all supporters! Want to join us for the Bexhill Carnival Parade this Saturday? There's still time!

Plans & Timings

The parade itself begins at 1. The organisers want everyone taking their places at 12.30ish

The plan is to start to meet on bexhill seafront by the sovereign light café at 11.45 ish. We imagine parking in Bexhill will be very difficult so if you can get a lift with someone, that would be for the best.

If you need a lift, you can travel with us from Sunnylea – we will have some drivers taking our small team down the seafront. Please be at sunnylea by 11am at the latest if you need a lift. We also have a few wolfy t-shirts at the centre if you would like to wear one.

The plan for the parade itself will be to carry our posters, hand out leaflets and collect for the Bexhill carnival charities. If you’re shy, you can carry a poster as this means less crowd engagement. Hopefully some wolfies will come with us, but it depends on the weather. If it’s too hot, they’ll have to stay at home. It’s going to be a slow, leisurely stroll, between one and one and a half hours. There will be a short rest stop about half way.

Be prepared for the weather – sun hats/ sun screen/ sun glasses might be needed, but if the forecast is bad, a rain jacket might be useful instead. We recommend you carry a small bag so you can bring some water with you. If you need to stop at any point on the route, that’s fine, you don’t have to do the whole walk if it’s too much. But please use the number below to keep us posted about if you’re OK, if you still need a lift back etc.

I require 6 local volunteers 🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♂️ for our Samhain event, 26 October, 5:45pm-9pm if possible also to help set up and pack down. 3 need to be able bodied to walk up the hill at the back of Wild Heart Hill aiding those that are in the hillside procession. Whilst you will obviously be able to see what's going on and take part in most, I will be relying on you to keep our guests safe, check tickets at gate, assist anyone that looks like they need a hand on the hill. 3 will go up in the procession and 3 will remain with the main fire and half of the Mythago crew, myself and any others that cannot make not up the hill.

The White Raven 2 day Norse wedding 🌿
The couple undergo separate rituals the day prior. This involves a number of rituals including a special cleansing ceremony - first the kransen (golden head circlet) would be solemnly removed from the bride's head and wrapped to be put away for the bride until the birth of a daughter or granddaughter of her own. The next step in the bride's preparations is a visit to a clean water 💧 source where she undergoes a symbolic cleansing of all that has been before, the washing away of her maiden status. The purification from the primal waters preparing her for her mystical role as wife, lover, mother. Herbs, flowers 🌺 or oils can be added to the process both for their cleansing and healing properties as well as their scent. The groom undergoes the same pre-wedding cleaninsing rite.

This weekend I finally got to meet the gentle, beautiful soul that is Kjell. His album Blóta dropped at the most pivotal part of my life and was an integral part of my healing and coming to terms with what had happened to me post-op. He sung this song, Galdr, at the end of his set which had me in tears, it has spoken to me deeply for these few years and I am intensely grateful to you Kjell Braaten Music for singing that particular song on Friday 🥰

A wonderful heartfelt family story 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧 This beautiful family had the ceremony they had been wanting, honouring their individual beliefs, their little fae 🧚‍♀️daughters looking on as they spoke their vows one to another and the lovely bride's mother jumped the broom 🧹 with them as a family, leaving the past behind and leaping into their bright future together.

💫🧑‍💻"Melanie was a dream, she was so kind and thoughtful when it came to sorting out how it all works, what we'd like to include and had us in happy tears on our first call with her. From beginning to end Mel was so helpful with what we wanted to include and upon meeting her in person it was like talking to family, including our young girls and C (S's mum) and welcoming us all. It was the perfect handfasting that we'd been looking for for a good few years and out of it we believe a friendship has formed also, Many thanks Mel."

Thank you to you both, it was an absolute priviledge to be asked to be a small part of your life's journey together.

Sometimes people cross your path that really touch your heart. This beautiful couple certainly did just that. Unbeknownst to me, they had decided to travel all the way from Portsmouth to have this blessing.

The red cord 🪢of destiny seemed to be the theme running through the lives of the couples that had ceremonies at Beltane this year - lives entwined long before meeting even.
Paul and Lucy's story was no less so, deeply moving and so much love. We were all crying at one point as a very special visitor gave her blessing 🌸

🌿 We asked Mel to bless us with a handfasting ceremony on the spur of the moment and she graciously agreed. We felt very special and cared for and the ceremony was beautiful and meaningful. We can't recommend Mel highly enough! LM.
