📢 Update for January/February. I'm still ploughing through the list of boring jobs this month. Deep cleaning is still underway. Have crossed off deep cleaning of the fridge, oven and extractor fan this week, along emptying and cleaning a number of food storage containers.

My tax return is done, but I still have a number of personal things to get on with, including arranging to looking around secondary schools for my youngest son.

My husband is due to have surgery in February now, so I'm keeping my schedule as free as possible. I still intend to have a stall at Sleaford Indoor Market in February, but I might have to move the date if it conflicts with anything medical related. Keep following for the latest information as I will keep you updated.

Anyone who voted on my recent post about cookie flavours, is entitled to claim a voucher for 1 free cookie when they spend £5. I'm unsure if anyone has seen this on the voting post.

I don't think I reached many people last night about my rum and raisin cookies. I had some trouble with my posts needing admin approval in groups after I made an edit to the original post.

Available this weekend - Rum & Raisin Cookies with Rum Icing and Cinnamon Sugar Sprinkle on top. Raisins are soaked in rum. Icing only 2 ingredients - Icing sugar and rum.

Allergens: egg and wheat.

Collect from Sleaford NG34 8AS or day time delivery within 0.5 mile for £1.50. Delivery to Holdingham and Sleaford Town Centre is £2.95 and hand delivered on foot.

Are you looking for a weekend treat? Today I made a small batch of Rum & Raisin Cookies, therefore only a limited quantity available. There is quite a bit of dark rum in these, so it's not one for the kids.

These are a rum and raisin cookie (raisins pre soaked in rum) with rum icing and a little cinnamon sugar sprinkle on top.

Some of you have been waiting to try these. I would love it if my customers could kindly share some feedback on these please. Me and my husband think they are very yummy but these are new and it's the 1st time I am offering these for sale.

£1.60 each or 4 for £5.50.

I have also made one giant cookie, which is double the size of these, this one is only £2.50.

I was experimenting as I would like the cookies a little bigger for markets so they fit in with my mix and match 4 for £7 offer. I will have to try again as I need the portion to be half way between the giant and standard ones.

📢 I have just bought a new toaster so I can offer hot pancakes at markets from February.

More details to follow. Over the next few weeks I will be working on trials of pancake toppings.

Flavours I will be trialling are: Strawberry Cheesecake style, Cinnamon Roll style, Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate Party.

At this stage I am planning on offering a sandwich of 2 pancakes with various sauces and toppings.

Any other topping/flavour suggestions are welcome.

Orders for plain pancakes to warm up at home are also welcome.

I have managed to fit in an order of Energy Bites this week for a customer. Made fresh yesterday afternoon. I have a total of 24 extra bites available. Please private message if you are interested in any this week.

Please note that the ingredients have slightly changed since I last made these. Most notably, I have reduced the amount of tahini in the sticky toffee bites to reduce the fat content.

After careful consideration, we have unfortunately decided to close Sleaford Country Market. This is the indoor market in the Riverside Church Hall.

2024 was a tough year for a lot of our market members, due to a lot of unfortunate personal circumstances. We carried on as long as we possibly could, but we have decided to not return in February as originally planned due to the lack of continuing volunteers to run the market.

Sleaford Country Market opened originally under WI many decades ago now. It has seen a variety of different crafters, bakers and growers over the years. We thank all the local customers and market members that kept it going as long as it has done.

I would like to make our regular customers aware that while the market is closing, you will still find some of us trading elsewhere in the local community.

Some of our members didn't wish to be named personally but some have booked tables at the new Sleaford Indoor Market in the old M&Co building. Others haven't made exact plans yet but would like to continue with local craft fairs every now and again.

In the Sleaford Indoor Market you will find Christina with her cakes on Saturday's monthly from 15th February and Marie with her handcrafted gifts from April. Christina and Marie also sell their handcrafted products in Tillys Tea & Gift Shop in Metheringham. Marie also has products available in Fairy Crafters in Woodhall Spa.

One last project for the year! I have done some product development on my energy bites and I can now confirm that all 4 varieties have been developed with vegan recipes using date syrup instead of honey.

Orders are closed now until the middle of January, but if anyone wants any, I am set to make some again at the end of January for an event.

📢 That's it now for 2024 and I've hit 100 followers today 🥳 Thank you to the people of Sleaford and surrounding areas for all the cakes you have bought from me over the first 6 months I have been trading.

I will be back in the new Sleaford Indoor Market on Saturday the 15th of February.

I regret to inform everyone that Sleaford Country Market is in the process of closing down and will not reopen in the new year. This is due to a number of stallholders leaving in December and a shortage of people to manage running it going forward. It has been a valuable experience for me and I wouldn't be where I am now without joining that team.

I am afraid like many other small businesses recently, that I have had no choice to slightly raise my prices this winter. My price list for special occasions has been updated and will be posted again shortly. I still remain very competitively priced for an artisan baker.

Going forward into 2025, pricing at markets will be as follows:

4 for £7 items are offered as mix and match so you can pick a variety.

I hope to meet lots of new people in the new indoor market and I am open to suggestions from my customers on any new cake varieties they would like to see in the future. I am very grateful to the post office team who have taken on the huge task of refurbishing the old MandCo building. I am looking forward to when everything is up and running with the game/parcel shop at the rear of the building.

I am open to birthday cake orders from Thursday 16th January. For now I am taking 4 weeks off for Christmas, deep cleaning and accounting.

I look forward to seeing you all again in the new year. In the meanwhile I will still reply to any enquires, so don't hesitate to contact me should you like to order for next year.
