🏆PUBLIC SPEAKING VICTORY FOR WATERHOUSES YFC 🏆
Last Sunday we took part in the annual public speaking day at County level and won overall public speaking team, this was an amazing achievement for our club as it's the first time we've won in 11 years!! We are very excited to enter the west midlands round😁 well done to all our members for their dedication and commitment ❣️✨️

To all our farmers heading down to London today, and all our farmers having to stay behind to milk, to feed calves, to tend to their flocks and pigs - to do what they do every single day.

To those who own their farms, and to those that rent their farms. To those who have enjoyed a lifetime working their land and building a resilient business that the next generation are excited to take on. To those that are just starting out and battling to make ends meet. To those who have invested heavily in getting their farms future proofed. To those who probably should be slowing down a bit, but can't. To those who love their way of life, and those that are questioning their way of life. To those who are struggling to know what to do next. To those who are terrified of what might come next.

To those who work so hard to feed our nation, take care of our beautiful countryside and pass on your knowledge, work ethic and lifestyle to the next generation.

Know that we stand right behind you. The whole bloody country does.

Announcements made in the autumn Budget, including tax changes and wage increases, have caused concern among young farmers and the wider farming community.

With events planned in London next week, there are plenty of ways YFC members can show support for British farmers on 19 November 2024.
You and your club can:

☑️ Sign the petition to overturn the family farm tax. https://www.campaigns.nfuonline.com/page/160300/petition/1?ea.tracking.id=NFUOnlineArticle

☑️ Write to your local MP. Find your MP 👉 https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP

☑️ Speak to your school/college/workplace to ask if they can encourage people to wear their boots on 19 November. There is a story in the press at the moment about a 15 year old from County Durham who has organised for this to happen at their school.

☑️ Post positive messages about British farming on social media on 19 November 2024 to show your support for British farmers.
