A final go at this social media thing and it's a big thank you to the all the lovely people who've agreed to climb aboard some strange-looking bikes and get out delivering over the last ten years. I owe a particular debt of gratitude to Craig and Richard, the spine of the team and both legends. Huge thanks also to Alan, Ardie, Ian, Darren, Stefani, Wai and Richard S and going back to the beginning, Steve and Wayne. The Beast from the East, a pandemic, heatwaves and more named storms than you could shake a weather-vane at, they just kept rolling.

Box Bike Delivery - Important Announcement December 2024

It is with great sadness that we would like to announce that Tuesday Dec 24th will be our last day of deliveries - it's the end of the cycle lane for us. After over 10 years we've reached the point where, despite there being a lot of work for us, to continue would not make sense - every business needs to re-invest, and that's become increasingly beyond our reach as costs spiral upwards and some parcel rates slide in the opposite direction.

We would like to especially thank our local Stevenage customers, all of whom have been wonderful to work for and all of whom have supported the idea of sustainable deliveries. We've made hundreds of thousands of deliveries in that time, and no doubt we've saved many, many tonnes of CO2 in the process, which is no bad thing. We wish all our customers and all the people we've delivered to the very best for the future.

Great to meet Ervin Brusas recently, he runs Pagbilan, an online , bringing specialist Asian non-perishable goods to the UK. We'll be handling the local deliveries across SG1 and ensuring that the last leg is a one.

Delivered to an address on North Road yesterday adjacent to the first stretch of new two-way cycle lane. It's looking good! We will certainly be using this daily once finished, as will many other people

That's the Box Bike team done for 2022. Another very, very busy year with record numbers of deliveries particularly in the last few months, and at times, some pretty challenging conditions. We've cycled in a temperature range of around 44C, including a couple of red weather warnings, and delivered tens of thousands of items using via . Well, this doesn't happen often, but as the work for the day had finished and the temperature climbed it seemed like the perfect thing to do🍺 It's been another busy week but a good one - lots of deliveries, an e-assist problem fixed by Craig, a new rider appointed for mid-July and in the week that saw , another 5 clean air days from us. Really worth reading the report that Cycling UK have included in their post below, it's a positive and comprehensive look at how society as a whole benefits from improved cycling infrastructure. We're actually very lucky in that we have the 'gold standard' of over 40km of segregrated cycleways, but as the town grows the network needs to grow too! We're definitely noticing a few more around and more people seem to be saving money by using a bike for work across town. 🚲 ❤️
