There's been a bit of chat over on Bolt Action Scotland. on the subject of the tournament scene for 2025. And a wishlist from players.
We'd discussed running a Bulge event next year, but have decided to postphone (pre-announcement no less).
There are a few reasons for this, I'll try to keep them brief:
1. D-Day Replayed (Public Group) was a massive undertaking and it isn't all wrapped up yet! At the time of writing, Stewart Ainslie hasn't published the final pack and we've still got scenery to distribute and an opportunity for exclusive player merch*!
2. When we Replay again, we'll need even more individual* volunteers within our little crew. Massive thanks again to Brian Forrester who assembled the lions share of coastal defence bunkers and landing craft for D-Day this June. It was a hell of a job to tackle solo! (If we 'Replayed' the scenery build, we'd certainly have wanted more PVA covered hands!)
2B. We'll rely more heavilty on the marketing efforts of our amazing sponsors, particularly those with social reach such as Warlord Games and Sarissa Precision Limited. The resources were there from the start, we never imagined how long it would take to us pull things together for them.
3. We're concious that the new 'Battlegrounds Replayed' brand is nothing but a logo, on ice, right now. There are decisions to be made around how often these events run, where they take place and how dedicated they are to an anniversary year or historic date.
We hope that all who attended D-Day Replayed this June had an incredible time, Narrative Bolt Action events being a bit of a step into the unknown for all of us.
We'll update you again once we've made a little more progress on future battleplans.
Meantime, if you'd like a chat about running Narrative Campaigns, need help with a D-Day themed even of your own***, or want to get involved with the next 'Replayed' give me (Stew) a shout on Facebook Messanger or email: [email protected].

*Does anyone still want D-Day Replayed merch? We'll ask that in our Group...
**our clubs and group support was incredible and we couldn’t have put on the event without them!
**We would love to see other D-Day events spring up using the terrain our legacy has provided to clubs and groups in Scotland!
