THIS COMING SATURDAY - 11pm to 7am!

There is still time to join in with The Big Sleep Out and help raise awareness and vital funds for mental health services in the our region, where mental illness and su***de rates are alarmingly high. The North-East holds the highest regional su***de rate in England, and serious mental health problems continue to rise.

Over 40 participants are currently due to sleep rough on the Majuba end of Redcar Beach, facing the cold October night with nothing but a sleeping bag to raise awareness about critical mental health issues and homelessness in the Tees Valley.

In a touching tribute to those affected by mental illness, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council will light up the Redcar Beacon in green, symbolising hope and support for those battling mental health challenges.

The aim is to make mental health stigma a thing of the past - by participating or sponsoring, you’re helping to bring light to a problem that affects us all.

There will be toilets, security, hot food, and drinks available and each participant will also receive a Big Sleep Out hoodie featuring the hashtags and .
