What a year it has been!

Our busiest year to date with so many incredible weddings and the most wonderful couples.

As I was reflecting on the year I had a moment where I stopped and realised just how far my “little” business has come in 6 years. I am eternally grateful for those of you who choose me and trust me with your wedding, it means the absolute world to me and allows me to continue living my dream every day.

Thank you all so much. You’re the best.

How beautiful are these pictures from H&J’s beautiful wedding captured by the amazing I absolutely love the party flatlay at the end! Flowers were by the talented - just dreamy!!

If the end of your aisle is narrow or on the smaller side you can still make an impact!

Hello! It’s been a little while so I thought I would show my face and say hi to new and existing followers are here. 👋🏻

I’m Lesley, owner and creator of White Fern Weddings.

Next year marks my 7th year in business and I couldn’t be prouder of where we are and where we came from.

You can read all about how White Fern came about on my website on the ‘About us’ page, so I’ll spare you the full story, pop there if you’d like a read! So instead I’m going to tell you my favourite and least favourite things.

Faves: Friends & Family (of course) a cup of Yorkshire tea, trash TV, a good margarita (the cocktail, not the pizza… although I do love a pizza) and skincare products- current obsession is Elemis.

Least faves: Drizzle, butterflies and moths (same thing), mushrooms, people who park in parent/ baby spaces when they don’t have children with them.

What a wedding this was!

Receiving the full gallery from F & L over the weekend I was reminded of just how beautiful this day was. From the frosted signage with black letting, to the meadow centrepieces and the elegant black edge charger plates. It all came together so perfectly.

I have decided to do something that I’ve never done before, and I’ve joined a fundraising initiative, 100 miles in October 2024 for the National Autistic Society this is something very close to my heart and I hope to raise as much as possible to give back to a charity that supports so many.

I will be posting on my story every day on October where I will do between 6000-7000 steps a day to hit the 100 miles target.

A moment for the cake…

In 2025 please can we vow to stop sticking the cake in the corner please? They deserve to a moment of their own!

This incredible cake was made by the lovely nicola and adorned with stunning florals by at a wonderful wedding recently. We added the acrylic plinth to make the cake float about the florals and the end result is 👌🏻

Here are three things to consider when styling your aisle…

• You want to draw the eye down the aisle, a great way to do this is to opt for soft chiffon chair drapes tied with a ribbon/foliage/ flowers to complement your wedding colours.

• Add ambiance to create a cosy feeling- you know how we feel about candles. You can never have too many.

• Impact at the end of the aisle. This is where all of your guests will be looking and more importantly where you will say your vows! Opting for a backdrop that can be moved after your ceremony means you get two for the price of one, always a win.

Let’s talk confetti…

Here are my three top tips for confetti photos as amazing at these!

1. MORE IS MORE- when ordering your confetti, now is not the time to be shy. If you want big beautiful confetti shots then you need to make sure you have enough confetti! We recommend at least one packet/handful per person.

2. SMILE- okay, I know it sounds obvious but it can be easy to flinch and shut your eyes when someone is hurling confetti at you. This won’t make for amazing photos 🫣 you’ve got to smile and walk for the best photos!

3. THE DIP- If you want this moment during your confetti shot then make sure you practice. The dip looks ammmaaazing but do it a handful of times around the living room first so that you nail it during your confetti moment.
