FAQ: When do we set up the tipis?

This week we are talking building 🔨

Unlike a standard marquee, our giant tipis are handcrafted structures. They’re designed to be strong, weatherproof, and beautiful — but that also means they need a little extra care, a lot of teamwork and muscle power to put together 💪

We don’t rush the process, because we want your event to be flawless from the very start. For weekend celebrations, we’ll usually arrive on the Wednesday or Thursday to build and come back on Monday to take everything down. This gives you at least a day in between to decorate, style, and take care of any last-minute details ✨
Think of it less like “pitching a tent” and more like creating a venue from scratch. The end result? A unique, magical space that feels unforgettable!

Our crew know the tipis inside out — so you can relax knowing it’s all in safe hands. All you have to do is step inside and let the memories begin. 💫

FAQ: How far in advance should I book my tipi?
Our simple answer is: as early as possible! 🗓️

Our tipi season runs from April to October, and with peak wedding season falling between May–September, those prime weekends fill up fast.

Remember – your tipi isn’t just décor, it’s your venue! Before you can book suppliers, finalise your guest list, or dream up the finer details, you’ll want to secure your space.

💡 Our tip: As soon as you’ve set your date, make your tipi booking the very first thing on your wedding checklist. That way, you’ll have the heart of your celebration secured and can plan everything else around it.

🗓️ Couples often book 12–24 months in advance – so if you’ve got your eye on a summer celebration, now’s the perfect time to get in touch.

FAQ: How many tipis do we need for our guest list?
One of the first questions couples and party planners ask us is: “How many tipis do we need?”
It’s a big decision — your space sets the tone for the whole event, so we want to make sure it feels just right!

Here’s our guidance:
🍴1 tipi can comfortably seat up to 60 guests for a meal or fit around 80 people standing for a more casual vibe.
🥂If you’re dreaming of a lively dance floor and a stylish bar area (and who isn’t?), we highly recommend giving them their own tipis. That way your dining space stays beautiful, your bar feels like its own destination, and the dance floor has room for everyone to let loose.

Every celebration is unique, so there’s no “one-size-fits-all” answer — but we’ve got the perfect tool to help!

FAQ: Is my space suitable for a tipi?

Great question — and one we get often!

All we need is a reasonably flat area for the tipis you've booked. Don't worry if the ground isn’t perfectly level — the beauty of tipis is in their rustic charm, and they’re built to handle a bit of natural unevenness.

When it comes to access, we do bring an 18ft trailer for setup and takedown. While our team is more than happy to carry the kit a short distance, we’ll need adequate access to the site for unloading.

That said — tight space? No problem.
Alex’s reversing skills are the stuff of legend, so if there's limited turning room, we've got it covered.

We always try to arrange a site visit before you book a tipi hire, this allows us to assess the space and confirm logistics. It’s also a great chance for you to ask questions and walk through the setup with us.

FAQ: Do you provide furniture and decor?

YES! 🤩 We have many of our own large decorative items and if we don’t have it we will find it! We also have some wonderful connections with some very talented stylists who can go the extra mile!

All of our tipis come with interior fairy lights and carpets. Some people leave the decor at this, some people choose to personalise the space more! We’ve had bunting, balloons, lanterns, wicker baskets, foliage etc. Let your imagination run wild and we will help where we can!
