More planting and definitely indoors only today. This was taken 5 minutes after a fast and furious hail shower, part way through a day of bitter wind BRRRRR
So I've pulled out the wallflowers from this area and planted with all 'S's: snapdragons, stocks and scabious for the summer

Delivery is ONLY to addresses within York outer ring road. No villages for this one as I only have a couple of hours available for deliveries. However you're welcome to collect from me in Huntington or from on Saturday 30th 10-11.30

I made some last flowers for Chrissie. A pair of these vases for the celebration of her life in the chapel at York Cemetery last week
Chrissie received many DIY flower subscriptions over the last 5 or 6 years courtesy of her children and was always keen to tell me how long she'd got things to last. Fitting then that they asked for a couple of buckets to make their own additional arrangements as a family

Thanks to everyone who has ordered flowers for their mama this weekend. Gratifying to see so many familiar names and addresses on the list for another year, some well brought up children out there, obviously. Sad to hear of those who have departed for the gardens of eternity

It's March. Time for things to get serious again. Seeds are germinating, seedlings are growing after a winter rest, shoots are appearing from the soil and the branch, the first daffodils are flowering in the field. I might even set my alarm back to serious-time instead of nice lie-in time. Soon anyway

If your saved seed autumn sown sweet peas didn't make it through the winter very well you can look around for self seeded volunteers instead. Self sown plantlets left to mind their own business are often better than the ones you attempt to nuture

Like it or not, the year is moving on and green things are appearing from the earth again. My overwintered seedlings have done well and were moved outside yesterday, under a layer of fine mesh to keep greedy beasts at bay. I hope that in the future the ground will be dry enough to plant them. We can but dream

Ranunculus update! I was delayed planting out the ranunculus but look: they've been happily growing away in their modules of and are now tucked into the polytunnel beds
I've gone for a reduced colour range - because I don't really need 100 x 4 different shades of pink [or do I??] - but top sized claws this year. Just 200 anemones to plant, plus those very few [actually loads] bulbs I accidentally bought in the sale 🫢

In other news the The Feed Room market on Saturday is no longer going ahead but I am sending just a few little bunches out to Partisan, Alligator Wholefoods & Noun tomorrow morning.
