Worth noting…

Oops, we forgot to mention. Not only is it free for cars to park after 2pm in the Brunel Mall and London Road (surface) car parks, there is FREE parking for sleighs for anyone coming to pick up presents (including elf helpers) from the amazing array of shops in town. The top deck of the Brunel Mall is best suited for landing your sleigh, approaching from Selsley Common and then over the canal is advised. Please park within the marked bays.

+++RUMOURS THAT STROUD PARTY SHOP IS SELLING REAL ELF EARS DENIED+++

A London Road party shop has denied rumours that its elf ears are real and removed from elves, in the latest scandal to hit the town’s retail sector.

Popular party shop Party On Up, who have had presence in the town for 13 years, had remained tight-lipped over these allegations until they broke their silence today.

The controversy centres around one of their Christmas-themed accessories - Elf Ears. Word has been circulating on social media that they have been removed from elves rather than manufactured, though the source of these rumours is not clear as they posted anonymously.

We contacted the town centre shop, who publish they are open 9am - 5pm Monday - Saturday, to encourage a response. We first asked why they’d been silent about these revalations. A spokesperson for the shop responded “We’ve not heard these ridiculous rumours before - it’s difficult to comment if you’ve no idea what’s being said. Where the heck have you seen this?” Seeing as they were being so evasive, we were not prepared to accept this rebuttal at face value and pressed for assurances. We confirmed the facts were clearly all over Facebook (so must be true) and sought assurances of elf well-being. “I can confirm that no elves are harmed in the supply chain of our elf ears. Along with Santa Costumes for under £10, oodles of accessories and Christmas hats, tableware and decorations, no elves are harmed nor exploited in the sourcing of these products. Elf welfare (also known as ‘Elf and Safety’) is very important to us.”

We headed to the streets of the town to see what people thought. One commented “They would say that, wouldn’t they?” whilst another asked if there was a coffee shop in town.

Jane, who asked not to be named, commented “And did you know they sell Disco Balls as well? That makes you think, doesn’t it! Where do they come from?”

We believe there may still be something to this story, but urge you to make up your own mind.

It’s definitely not White Cadbury’s Creme Eggs. Not them. Because it’s not even close to Easter and we don’t want to fall fowl (see what I did there?) of the Easter Egg Police.

So … we think we may have White Cadbury’s Creme Egg-shaped-snowballs … because that’s not even slightly Easter-like and still Christmas-y and seasonal and all that. Yeah.

However, if you know someone who does like White Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, we reckon they’ll be all over these.
