Quality over quantity!

This works for a few elements when bridal shopping…

Firstly, your guests!
Really bring the people that you trust and value their opinion, but who also know you the best. Everyone will have their own tastes and opinions on lace, sparkle and minimalism but those who know you well and love you, will immediately see when you’re in a dress you absolutely love and at this point their only thoughts will be “you look so happy in this one” whether or not they loved the lace on the last dress or not…!

Secondly, dresses! You’ll be surprised at how quickly you can narrow down ‘your’ style. Usually we find a bride has a preference on the fabrics, cut etc within 4 dresses. This process can be overwhelming at the best of times so helping brides streamline the search for the one is so important to us.

If you find “the one” within 7/8 dresses it can be really hard with the “what if” feeling. Sometimes you do have to kiss 70 frogs before you find your Prince (& that’s not a bad thing…)

The question you have to ask yourself is; if there is anything you’d change about the current dress you’re in? If there isn’t …and you love it…(you know what we’re going to say 🤣)

Lastly, boutiques!
Quality over quantity…

Our *best* advice is to take one shop at a time.

Choose a boutique that you really love the look of. A few tips from us; look at price points, reviews and, of course, the styles of dresses they stock. If you find “the one” in your first shop, amazing! If you don’t find anything you love then choose somewhere else you’d like to visit.

And if you find the one and you don’t want to shop anymore…then don’t let your Auntie Linda’s need to visit every shop in the UK change your mind.

We are still on cloud nine after making it in to regional finals! ☁️

Silk & Maple is built on a foundation that every bride deserves to have the very best experience whilst finding their wedding dress, and we are constantly working to make that happen and be the very best we can be!
So, making it to the regional finals really feels like a massive pat on the back moment for us, and we’re so proud! We are so grateful to do what we do every day 🤍✨
