Final post for World Celebrant Week and today let me tell you about my celebrant superpower!
Every Celebrant is different and I’m a big advocate for celebrant led weddings, but it’s really important you find the right celebrant for you! My celebrant superpower is really connecting with my couples. It’s more than the wedding day - by then I want to feel like you have a little cheerleader and friend by your side!

Did a funeral recently for this lovely woman who lived a long way from home so we prepared everything over FaceTime. On the day she was so overwhelmed I did my best to take of her and do the most incredible job for her family. But to receive this a month later warmed my heart. The beauty stays with people long after the day.

Last week along with Father Doug, I helped to Bless the Chapel of Rest at Bexley Funeral Partners. I love working with the team there to deliver uplifting services for their bereaved families. Religious services aren’t right for everyone but together we can honour your beliefs, whatever they are and deliver a service which celebrates the life of the person you have lost. With love.

Had fun this evening prepping for Fridays wedding. My beautiful couple this week, Amie and Fran are opting for a handtie - which I have custom made as a gift to them in their colours of their choice. Fran is Welsh, so the Celtic tradition adds a sentimental nod to his roots; whilst adding a splash of colour and meaning to the ceremony. The handtie colours revolves around red - the grooms favourite colour.

The ring exchange is such an important moment in the ceremony and most couples want a beautiful photo of this iconic moment.
I always advise all couples to rehearse and and practice this moment. To know where the cameras will be, to avoid the hand grab or the ring pull. The moment can be awkward if you don’t think about it before hand.
Katherine and Chris nailed this moment and got a beautiful shot - and look at that detailing on the dress! 🥰😍

Last week I got to help a family say goodbye to a beloved mother and grandmother.
Talking to the family was such a joy as amongst all the sadness there was so clearly so many stories, memories and love. When I asked them what they wanted from the day - they wanted me to bring her to life.
So I told those stories, the ones that bought the grandchildren to tears of joy and sadness - as they remembered those silly, happy memories of this wonderful woman.
Funerals will always be sad, but we can also find the joy - and deliver services with love, and help those memories remain.
This was the poem the family chose, which I wanted to share in honour of her memory.

Celebrancy is all love - but it isn't all weddings.
This week I have been booking in Funerals and using my counselling skills to talk to bereaved families.
It's always a honour to help a family process their loss and put into words how magical the person they loved was and still is to them.
I find that I also spend time with families discussing the logistics of death - there is a lot of paperwork isn't there?! And not only that - but I often come across in those early days - the guilt that people experience feeling joy as they share those happy memories.
I am here to tell you - It is ok to live, to love and to feel joy. And at some point - you will feel ok, to feel ok.

Being trusted to help Dave and Claire write their vows was such a privilege. I spent a long time with them listening to their love story, from the early beginnings of not really liking one another after they were sat together at school, to becoming best friends - and eventually falling in love. Their story was a perfect fairytale until the twist of Claire getting diagnosed with cancer at 29. Whilst she has come out fighting the year of their wedding ended up being far more challenging than either anticipated and their future at one point so certain, all changed.

Helping them articulate their story, where they are now - and how the love for each other is what gave them strength through this time - was such a privilege and I will cherish the memories from the ceremony and wedding forever.

Seeing a beautiful couple smiling back as they listen to their bespoke Celebrant Led Ceremony is such a joy.

Dave and Claire are a truly special couple, having been friends since school before Claire reluctantly realised she was in Love with Dave all along - they had an incredible story to tell already with so much rich, funny and beautiful history. Then in the past year Claire battled, and won a cancer battle. Their vows suddenly held so much more meaning than they ever imagined.

I worked with Dave and Claire to find the words they wanted to say - but did not know how.

Their ceremony was full of happy tears and laughter.

One of the questions we are asked most often as Celebrants is why have a Celebrant led wedding when you could hire a registrar?

When you go to so much effort to make sure every detail of your big day is perfectly precise and reflective of your relationship and love story - why would you compromise on the vows and go for something that is essential a simple legal contract?

You deserve more from your big day -and a celebrant wedding will allow you that bespoke touch that makes your wedding stand out.

Welcome to With Love Celebrancy, I am Danni and I am a celebrant. I work with families on creating their perfect Wedding Ceremony, Vow Renewals, Baby Namings, Funerals, Memorials and any other events which could benefit from a bespoke touch!

I set up With Love Celebrancy after being asked to participate in numerous friends weddings and in funerals.

One thing that struck me is the Love that comes from all of these events, the love stories we get to tell and share that make us all unique, and bring us altogether.

A registrar led wedding is a fixed template that doesn't work for everyone, and a church funeral is the same. If you want more autonomy than picking the readings and music - a celebrant led celebration is just the right thing for you.

I work with all the couples and families to create something unique to them - and never work from a "one-size-fits-all" template. Along with talking to you to learn about your love stories, I can also build in traditional, or completely individual rituals to make your ceremony stand out.
