Yo people just wanted to just give a quick thank you to every single one of you who came out to celebrate our one-year anniversary. It was an amazing night that we won’t forget. Every single DJ did such an amazing job, and the vibes were insane all night!

Join us this Sunday for our last rave of 2023 as we celebrate going into the new year. We have brought a huge line of local talent from across the country with the mighty Endo headlining this celebration.

👏 ASYLUM II | THANK YOU 👏
WOW! What a night. Asylum II was an absolute banger of a night. Firstly wanted to say a huge thank you to Asylum for having us down and giving us the challenge to try and avoid playing DNB, get out of our comfort zone and play a selection of genres. Not going to lie, we were quite nervous and with minimal practice time we were getting worried. We got up to the decks and then it was history. It wasn’t the most technically advanced set but it was such a unique and fun experience and everybody was loving it from what we could see and we were told. From house, garage, bassline to techno, and dubstep we tried to play as much stuff as possible and it ended up being a sick time (We did play some DNB towards the end, we couldn't help ourselves).
Big ups to every DJ who played, everyone was awesome and it was amazing to see some fresh faces playing you don’t often see in Swansea.
And obviously a huge thank you to everyone who came, you all went mental

CHUCKABOO | 19TH MAY | BE THERE YOU LITTLE RASCAL
🦛 VENUE INTRO | GET TO KNOW HIPPOS 🦛
Definitely one of our favourite venues, Hippos is one of Swansea’s more relatively new spots. They bring an expertise in running their venue through being incredibly supportive, friendly, and inclusive to every single person who steps through the door. “Best smokers in Swansea”. Hippos has one of, if not the best smoking/outside areas we’ve seen in Swansea and even beyond. It’s got a massive space with comfy sofas and heaters to chill out for a cheeky cig or two hundred.
Drinks at Hippos are very fairly priced, boasting most drinks not going over £5-6. We couldn’t talk about the drinks without specifically mentioning the wide range of hand made cocktails for all only £5 - you can’t go bloody wrong! They’re now even doing alcoholic slushies such as raspberry vodka and mango tequila, which are honestly amazing (£5 too!). On top of all of that, they’ve recently started serving pizza and hotdogs for £6-7 and £5-6, respectively, so if you’re craving some scran mid-rave there’s no need to even leave the venue.
This is all thanks to the amazing staff behind Hippos. Each and every person who works in Hippos clearly has a passion for the scene and music in general. With big personalities, they all bring a certain uniqueness which is what makes Hippos such a special location. We can’t talk about the Hippos staff without mentioning power couple, Hippos owners - Frankie & Stu. These two legends are some of the most genuine, passionate, and lovely people we’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and you can feel this energy emanating all throughout Hippos. We couldn’t think of a better venue for our upcoming event, and we’ll definitely be back to Hippos in the future.
We know this has been a long post, but we wanted to give Hippos the spotlight it deserves, as out of all venues in Swansea, Hippos is a truly special spot that everyone should know about!
