Nia Siân Davies began playing the harp at the age of nine and has played in numerous Eisteddfodau. She became a member of the Gorsedd as ‘Telynores Gŵyr’ in 1997 and in the same year joined the National Youth Orchestra of Wales for their sum

mer tour. In the same year Nia began her studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff and she gained a BA hons. During her time there she performed with Cliff Richard & Bryn Terfel in the Millennium Songs of Praise, filmed at the Millennium Stadium and performed for Prince Charles on his visit to Cardiff. For the last twenty years Nia has worked extensively in the music industry and regularly plays at weddings and corporate events. In 1998 Nia became the Principle harpist for ‘Synfonica Tywi’ a Carmarthenshire based orchestra. In 2001 Nia gained a PGCE in secondary music and has been a music teacher and a head of music in numerous schools in Swansea and Carmarthenshire. Since September 2014 she has worked part time with the West Glamorgan Music Services which gives her more time to bring up her young family. Since the age of 16, Nia has been a harp teacher with her pupils gaining up to and including a distinction in grade 8 harp. Many of her pupils have become established harpists in their own right and one gained a scholarship to study harp at Chethams School of Music. Nia also offers GCSE & A level music tuition. All couples who book me for their wedding are invited to the house to choose their music at no extra cost. Requests are greatly received. Today I had the pleasure of playing for a ceremony at Peterstone Court. Thank you Jessica Rachel Thomas for booking me. You look absolutely stunning.

It was my first time at Peterstone Court. It’s not often I find a new venue after 28 years of doing this job but what a lovely place and the staff couldn’t do enough and were so friendly. Super impressed. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
