While picnics sounds like doggy heaven 🙌 here are some tips for keeping your dog from raiding every picnic in the park🐕
🧀take high-value treats on your walk, an irresistible cheesy or meaty snack they would choose over a picnic
🗣practice recalling your doggo with both voice and whistle to make sure they return to you any time called
🎾distract your dog with their ball or noisy toy and pop them back on the lead as soon as you spot a picnic
🗓avoid busy times like weekends or lunch time, try free-running earlier or later in the day
🐶teach the ‘leave it’ command

With lots of fireworks coming up this summer, here are some quick tips to keep in mind 👇
🏠do not leave your dog home alone
🎾extra energy only adds to anxiety, so make sure they get plenty of playtime before 🎾
🌭keep them occupied with their favorite chews or treats or play a game
🗣comfort them in a calm soothing voice to help with anxiety
📺turn on TV or radio to mask the sounds of fireworks
🎇stay indoors and close windows/curtains to drown noise and minimize flashing light
Last but not least, a spooked doggo may run off and end up getting lost 😔
Make sure your home is escape-proof and your doggo is wearing a collar with identification🔒
