💫 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH 💫

Christmas has come early! 🎅🏼 This month we have our Assistant Manager Caitlin! Caitlin is walking away with £50 and a Spa Voucher for Two! This month we have our Assistant Manager Caitlin! 🤩

Why has Caitlin won this month?

⭐️ Caitlin started with us in the middle of October when she applied for the Admin Manager role however in her first couple of trial shifts she displayed natural leadership and people skills so we pressured her into taking on the role of Assistant Manager (just joking)! 🤪 Since taking on the role, she’s always there to lend an extra hand when we need it, she works the extra hours when needed and she’s always offering different ways to help.

⭐️ Since starting in Admin, Caitlin has taken it all in her stride. It’s more than just answering the phone and responding to emails. There is never a quiet day in the office and there are always jobs needing done. We were nervous of landing her with Christmas admin on top of everything else she’d only just learn but she took to it like pro and never broke a sweat - a true professional!

⭐️ Caitlin is so personable and friendly. She slotted into the team right away and made such an effort to get to know everyone. We’ve had glowing reports from everyone she’s worked with, “she’s so nice”, “she’s lovely” and it’s amazing to have someone in management boosting the morale the way she has.

⭐️ Caitlin is a forward thinker. The best part of this job is planning the events, organising charity fundraisers and thinking of ways to provide something new and exciting for our customers and it’s great being able to brainstorm with someone as enthusiastic about pushing the business to new heights as we are! Caitlin is a problem solver, a creative source and a highly organised individual.

⭐️ Caitlin is more than admin, she’s great on the floor, she’s amazing with our customers and suppliers, she’s approachable, professional and she’s already made an lasting impact on some of our regulars. She’s easily the best fit we’ve had in our management team alongside Graham, Fiona and Louise and having a tight management team means we can trust the place is always being looked after!

Well done Caitlin! You’re a real credit to yourself. You work so hard and you’ve really turned things around for the entire team here in such a short space of time! 🥂

Thank you everyone who bought a square! I’m delighted to announce that my name is Twinky and I’m going to a new home just in time for Christmas! 🎄

Lin Ferguson has done a marvellous job of knitting me, even leaving little holes in my hat for my ears!

All the money raised went straight into the Platform 1864 Hamper Appeal and I’m thrilled to let you all know they were all delivered successfully today and the humans will have an update tomorrow for you.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year and please remember to keep those who might be struggling through the Festive Season in your thoughts as it’s not easy for everyone. 💙

💫 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH 💫

This month we have the lovely Ellie! Ellie’s one of our front of house team members and she’s walking away with £50, a Platform Hamper and a lovely certificate for the fridge for being this month’s winner! 🤩

Why has Ellie won this month?

⭐️ Ellie started with us earlier this year and she came in with a bang! Her very first shift and she was operating like a pro, hospitality just comes so naturally to her! Ellie is a lovely, confident girl and we were tasking her with jobs we’d usually wait weeks before handing them to one of our younger employees and she’s taken it all in her stride!

⭐️ Ellie still attends school full time, works with us here, she works another job and has extra curricular activities she partakes in. We have never come across someone of Ellie’s age with such ambition and work ethic! Despite being busy ALL THE TIME, Ellie rarely complains, she’s never off sick, she’s always on time and she never asks to go home early!

⭐️ Ellie’s outlook on life is something that is really special and admirable. Whatever life throws at her, she’s never lets it stop her. She’s an incredible inspiration to the whole team here and watching the way she conducts herself and never lets anything get her down is an amazing example we could all learn from. Ellie is a force to be reckoned with and she will go very far in life!

⭐️ Ellie is such a kind, responsible and mature girl. She conducts herself so well equally professionally and personally. She’s funny, she’s friendly, she’s welcoming and she’s a joy to have with us. We say it over and over again but the young people we have working with us are really the ones who bring such a light to this industry and seeing them all grow in confidence in this job is one of the best things about it and Ellie is no exception!

⭐️ Ellie overall has become such a valued member of the team. She slotted in right away and despite having her older sister having worked with us before (who was also amazing), Ellie has managed to establish her own identity with us here and we’re really looking forward to watch her grow and improve.

Well done Ellie! From the moment you went up to Graham and asked for a job, we knew we were on to a winner with you! A very well deserved win this month! 🥳

After such high demand last year, we have decided to host a New Years Bash to bring in the bells! 🔔

With a free glass of fizz on arrival, a 3-course meal from a set menu, music featuring all of the best chart-toppers through the decades and another glass of fizz to bring in 2025, we’re sure this is going to be one of the best parties yet! 🕺🏽💃🏽🪩

Dress up or dress down, everyone is invited to our NYE extravaganza we are ready to tear our way through the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and more! 🥳

The evening meals will be served between 6pm-7:30pm so spaces are limited! If you’re not fast, you’re last! 💨

Please note, we will be allowing entry to everyone for drinks at the bar to bring in the bells! 🥂

🎁 Christmas Hamper Appeal 2024 🎁

We would like to thank everybody for all of the nominations and donations we have received so far! Our hamper appeal is the most important thing we do all year.

To nominate, all you need to do is send us an email with:
• Name of person/family you wish to nominate.
• Ages and gender of adults & children (birth to 16 yrs) so we can select suitable gift for each child.
• Full address with postcode (along with somewhere safe to leave hamper if no answer)
• A brief explanation of why you feel a hamper will help.
• You will receive a email to confirm your nomination has been approved and will be delivered on the 23rd of December. Please state whether you wish to remain anonymous should the recipient reach out to ask who nominated them.

If you would like to donate anything, please drop off to Platform1864:
• Non perishable foods (tin soup, beans, tinned fruit, pasta, pasta sauces, tea, coffee, biscuits, crisps etc.
• Juice, wines, alcohol free drinks etc.
• Selection boxes, sweeties.
• Crackers.
• Toys/gifts (this is for newborn, toddler, teen, adult & elderly)
• Hats/gloves/scarfs
• Toiletries/smellies (for men, woman and teens)
• Cash donations are a big help as we can then purchase things suitable for those nominated.

We had an amazing response with volunteers last year.
If you would be willing to volunteer your services to help deliver the hamper on the 23rd of December, please let us know and we can add you to our list.
