First night of Other Voices Cardigan done and as expected, amazing music new to my ears again. I had a lush set in Mwldan myself, starting by from an empty floor to having a great vibe going on.
Got see Chubby Cat, not my usual type of music, quite poppy, but with too much raw talent to be pop, and attitude. Fabulous singer, and they were so tight. The drummer was exceptional.
Then caught Lleuwen in the Bethania Chapel (wow, what a venue). Lleuwen was spellbinding, magical and then she knew what she was doing with the beats as well, some dirty beats in with the hyms. Mind a bit blown by this show, the sound also was pretty damn perfect. I’m 100% sold and a fan.
Finally I caught the Melin Melyn in Mwldan 2. No s**t, this is my new favourite band. I’m not even going to attempt to describe them, just go and see them. They’re just about to embark on a UK tour and I seriously think they’ll blow the pants off everyone, wherever they go.

Best festival for me again and it’s only Thursday.

Other Voices is just about to take over our little town of Aberteifi and make the whole place sparkle with soooo many gigs and amazing artists. Really chuffed to be involved again.
If anyone is around and fancies giving me some support, I’ll be playing my records at Mwldan tomorrow, Thursday from 9.45pm until 10.45pm and then again on Friday from 10.30pm until 11.30pm.
I’ll also be doing the DJ again on Saturday evening alongside Roberto Canassa at the ever lush little fringe venue Melfed in the arcade - this place has always been a hidden gem for Other Voices thanks to Carys Hedd and Lleu Hedd, amongst others.
What an amazing three days we are just about to embark on. Praise the lard! 😁
