Towersey Festival Folk Club

Towersey Festival Folk Club Bob and Gill have been running the folk club at Towersey for 28 years. There is usually a couple of guest spots each day. This is the real deal.

The Folk Club is a great get together, a chance to sing and play. An authentic club atmosphere with a Towersey twist. Bob and Gill first met in 1983, at the Lamb Ale Festival in Bob's home village of Kirtlington, Oxfordshire, which heralded the start of a partnership that has gone from strength to strength both musically and as folk organisers. Right from the start there was a musical bond that t

ies together two main qualities, namely Gills' truly stunning voice, and Bobs' harmonies and sensitive accompaniments. Drawing influences from traditional singers and some contemporary writers they are happiest singing unaccompanied pieces in close harmony. Bob & Gill are the son of Len & Barbara Berry, holders of an early Towersey Freedom of the Festival Award, and are currently singing many of their songs. They are prolific organisers too running Chippenham Folk Festival, the Devizes Folk Club and Wiltshire Folk Arts. Somehow they also manage to find time to be in a 6 piece band, Tinkers Bag, performing songs and music in themed shows. Bob and Gill run the Festival Folk Club daily in The Den between 3.30pm and 5.30pm....come join them.
