As an LGBTQ+ friendly business, I look forward to meeting same s*x couples in the future who feel safe in achieving their floral vision without judgement or prejudice. 🫶🏻

There is a sheer number of wedding suppliers that don’t use neutral terminology which can put many same s*x couples off from pursuing enquiries as there is no obvious inclusion, even simple words such as “Bride & Groom”!

Whatever you’re doing this month, I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating equality and diversity and recognising the milestones that have been achieved so far!

Sustainable cascade bouquet 🤩

The traditional style cascade bouquet has been modernised! With trailing foliage and flowers that create movement and depth, modern style cascades can have much more personality than traditional tight style.

This bouquet has been made sustainably using chicken wire instead of floral foam - I love the peach avalanche roses against the blush pink stocks, what a pairing 🫶🏻

The hottest trend for 2024 and beyond - minimalist bridesmaids bouquets! 🫶🏻

These mix and match bouquets for bridesmaids are becoming an increasingly popular choice for weddings; by using a single focal flower for each bouquet brings a different level of depth, texture and tone 🍃

All flowers in these examples are taken from the bridal bouquet to create cohesion between all of the bridal party - I think this choice is gorgeous ☺️

Epipremnum Aureum 🌱

This lady has produced 3 new leaves in less than 2 weeks 🫶🏻

These gorgeous fast growing plants originate from the humid and moist jungles in the French Polynesia, they make the perfect house plant and especially thrive in bathrooms!

Sometimes known in the UK as “Devil’s Ivy” they come in many variegated species and are a wonderful plant to watch grow as they unfurl their leaves quickly and any new shoots are easily identifiable 🔍

Displayed as a hanging plant or a climber up trellis, they’re very easy to maintain and only need a bottom water every week or so, once the soil is dry. They’re also available in most garden centres or supermarkets and very reasonably priced 💷

The entire plant is toxic to humans and most animals so be careful around children and pets 🐈‍⬛

Before I get signed for Vogue…

An arch (broken or full) is one of my favourite statement installations for a wedding ceremony!

Historically, the wedding arch traces its origins back to ancient civilizations, where it was erected as a sacred portal, symbolizing passage into a new phase of life and indicating the transition from engagement to marriage for the couple. 🧑🏼‍❤️‍🧑🏼

Some large installations can be repurposed on your day, reducing your costs and ensuring you get the most out of your blooms. Some couples choose to create a photo backdrop for their guests to enjoy throughout the evening 📸

This broken arch is abundant with luxurious flowers and foliage with a monochromatic theme, resulting in an elegant and classic installation 😍

Wild Garlic & Bluebells & Butterflies, oh my! 🦋 🌱

Woolacombe and Ilfracombe are my favourite places to be; retirement here would be a dream come true!

We’ve spent a few days here in gorgeous sunny weather and have been lucky enough to walk through the woodlands and along coastal paths followed by an array of butterflies, just look at this Red Admiral posing for a photo 😍

Low grade vs high grade flowers - perfect example! ⬇️

Ever wonder why fresh flowers can be so expensive? The below pictures explain why!

I purchased 40 roses on clearance for skills development and whilst I love the finished product, it’s evident that these roses are low quality and have lots of imperfections.

You can notice that the white Avalanche roses have wilted petals as well as the Doris Days have a green tinge to the edge of their outer petals; likely caused by fungi, pesticides or a virus. 🦠

When purchasing flowers for a client, the highest grade and freshest stems will be ordered to ensure that any defects or imperfections are not present for the arrangement. 👌🏻

Roses are my favourite flowers and I still love this bouquet none the less ☺️

Flower crowns are so versatile! 🌸👑

Often used as an addition to bridal flowers in replacement of tiaras or veils, they can give a whimsical feel to your big day 🧚

Smaller versions can be worn by the bridal party or flower girls to keep their hands free to help with the brides dress!

They’re also becoming very popular to wear on hen parties and offer a hen party workshop where you make your own flower crown before heading off for the rest of your celebrations!

Flexible with size and shape these arrangements can take many forms including symmetry and using specific flowers as a focal point.

Buttonholes or boutonnières are worn by members of the grooms party to easily identify fathers/groomsmen/page boys and so on.

Available in a huge range of styles and sizes, they can be personalised to include themes relating to the groom’s personality or even their hobby.

Grooms buttonholes tend to have a larger design using flowers from the bridal bouquet, whilst grooms party buttonholes will have a muted design with complementing flowers and foliage.

The upcoming trend in 2024 and expected to continue is the pocket garden which consists of a small arrangement of flowers and foliage affixed to card and placed in the breast pocket of the groom or party.

The tradition is thought to have originated from Ancient Greece where they were worn to ward off evil spirits and ensure that the groom wouldn’t turn his heart against the bride and refuse to love her.

Funeral flowers can vary depending on your requirements. You don’t have to choose the common arrangements if it doesn’t suit your wishes, choose options that will send your loved one off with great dignity. 🕊️

We often assume that they must be purchased through the funeral directors or use them as ease, but florists can provide beautiful, unique arrangements with grace and respect to you and your family.

Many religious and non-religious sites are beginning to ban harmful materials in floral arrangements and for this reason it’s a fantastic opportunity to find a florist who can use sustainable and fully bio-degradable techniques to ensure your flowers can be used and enjoyed by all. The arrangements pictured are fully bio-degradable. ♻️

I like to work with the family to portray the personality of the loved one through their final goodbye; it’s a nice touch to use flowers from their garden if there are any available or even a memorable possession incorporated into the arrangements.

I love the yellow and green shades in this arrangement! ☀️

A local company who were celebrating their owners 60th birthday and holding client meetings contacted me to provide flowers to be centre of attention on their reception table. 🏢

I chose hydrangea as a base and focal flowers included yellow Ranunculus and white Alstroemeria to complement the companies branding.

Yellow also represents happiness, hope and prosperity - fingers crossed the arrangement helps sign any deals!🤞🏻
