URGENT - EMERGENCY FOSTER HOME NEEDED
ARCHIE
Currently in Leicester but can travel
4 years old
Male, miniature, smooth, red
Neutered
We are really sad to say that Archie, who was moved to a foster home 4 weeks ago is again looking to be moved. We are looking for an amazing emergency foster home, to be moved as soon as possible, but with a view to keeping him or at least seeing him through to his forever home.
Archie has been moved three times in the past two months and really needs to be given the chance to settle and let his real fun, quirky, loving little character shine through.
Archie will resource guard food against dogs and people and certain items, such as the sofa, the bed and blankets, where he has shown to become aggressive without warning. He has bitten and will bite if this is not managed. Having assessed Archie over the past weeks, we feel that much of his behaviour is fear based, which isn’t helped by the fact that he hasn’t been able to settle in one home.
We know that Archie also has medical issues, which will be contributing to his behaviours. With having to move again, we will need to start this process again but we need someone who is willing and able to work through this with him.
Are you able to help at short notice and will you commit to getting him through the next couple of months so we can fully investigate his medical issues with veterinary support and also work on his behaviours. Experience with these behaviours isn’t always essential as you will be guided and have the full support of our behaviour team and also face to face behaviour/training if needed, this along with his medical bills will be funded by The Red Foundation.
Archies home requirements are as follows:
• Adult only home preferred a single household but if a couple then please ensure that both parties are committed to helping Archie
• A home where he is not left
• Quiet, minimal visitors
• No children
• No dogs (one older, calmer dog may be considered)
• Archie has lived with cats and as long as they are dog savvy he doesn’t tend to mind
Archie really needs to be given a chance. He is a super loving boy, loves his cuddles, playing fetch and snuggling under his blanket. He just needs to be able to show this without the stress he’s been feeling over the past months. He needs someone who is patient and has the time to work with us to getting him to a better place. Please only apply for Archie if you can and will commit to getting him to this place.
He will be looking for a permanent home and when that time comes the adoption fee for Archie will be £350. Please contact eileen@theredfoundation if you are able to help little Archie.
