Brief history
Silverholme was built in 1820 by John Job Rawlinson of Low Graythwaite Hall. The Rawlinsons lived there until Colonel Thomas Sandys acquired the house around 1890. The Rawlinsons crest can be seen in the stained glass window at the top of the main staircase. The house was originally called New Hall. Colonel Sandys renamed the house Silverholme.
