Our village is not just for the kids, it is for the whole family to enjoy!

We want the grown ups visiting our village to have just as much fun as the little ones so we have made sure that our village is as stress free and relaxing as possible.

We have an open plan design so that grown ups can see their little ones at all times. This creates a stress free environment and allows children to develop confidence to explore as they like. Our village is great for a mixed age range of children meaning that siblings can come and play together! As our village is open plan , you can see all of your children at the same time no matter what direction they choose to play in.

We have large play areas so that adults can fit in the play areas with their children creating a high quality, family play experience. Not only this, several families can play in a play area at the same time. This means that adults as well as children can socialise together!

Our village is fun as well as being very educational, it is a great place for the whole family to come together to have quality family time in a stress free and relaxing environment

In our village, we have big play spaces for a very important reason, so that families and friends can play together!

🖍 With the design of Pop Up Play Village Bath being open plan, we have been able to create wonderful, big play spaces. Not only are they big, but they are also equipped with so many resources so that children can play alongside and with each other.

🧸 There's nothing better than seeing a group of several families playing and socialising together in just one of our play areas or on a school visit seeing a big group of children all playing together in the same space. This makes it such a sociable place to come and play and encourages the development of personal, social and emotional skills as well as supporting communication and language development.

We absolutely love our village and the opportunities that it provides for families!

How does Pop Up Play Village support different age groups?
Here is a blog that Becky has written all about how our play areas support learning for different age groups. I hope that you enjoy having a read!

Our play areas have been designed to be suitable for babies through to around the age of 8 years old. This is a large age range especially considering how much learning and development takes place in the first 8 years of life so you may be wondering how does this work?

To take a look at how role play supports children’s development in further detail, click on the link below to view our learning through role play table which shows the learning that takes place in the different developmental stages. It is truly remarkable how much children learn through role play and being able to provide these valuable role play experiences is so very special.

Here at Pop Up Play Village Bath, creating a fun and inspirational play experience is what we are all about.

Our franchisor Becky has written a blog all about it:

Every child is unique each with their own interests, what one child might find a fun and inspirational play experience may be different to that of another. That is why child led play is so important. Through child led play, each child is in the driving seat. They can lead their own learning and take their play into an experience that is fun for them and inspires them to want to play more.

Here at Pop Up Play Village, we have created an open plan, child led role play experience where the children can do just this, they can lead their own learning in a fun, play based environment. We set up the play areas before our visitors arrive never knowing in what direction the children are going to use our play areas to inspire their play. For example, one child may use our construction site to build a house whilst another may decide to use the bricks in the construction to create shapes. There are no set ways to play at Pop Up Play Village and no play session is ever the same.

As children start to play in our village, their play does often change direction depending on what others are doing around them. Children are influenced by how other children play in our village. This is such a great opportunity for children to learn from each other and to develop their social skills. How children are playing in our play areas inspires those around them to try new ideas and to experiment in new ways that they may not have thought of before. The children really do own the play space together creating a fun, inspiring and sociable place to play.

Here is a great role play activity to support with teaching road safety. Our franchisor Becky & her family made the road out of black paper and white sticky labels. They then gathered up some cars and little characters and role played how the characters would cross the road safely. Evan then asked for the car mat so that he would have more roads for the cars. So, out came the car mat too and this was a great extension to their play. A great activity to practise road safety skills.

It can be quite tricky for children to understand the importance of today and the concept of two minutes of silence. Instead of 2 minutes of silence, CBBC and CBeebies broadcast this 2 minute animation called "Poppies", showing war from the animals' points of view.

Pop Up Play Village is coming!

Hello I’m Michelle!

I am so excited to be bringing Pop Up Play Village to Bath and parts of South Gloucestershire. I have spent 16 years teaching children through play in schools and fully believe that play is key to children becoming successful, lifelong learners. Through Pop Up Play Village sessions, children get to tell the stories which they create. They can role play these stories, exploring different possibilities and outcomes as they get interaction from those around them. This goes on to enhance their ability to read and write, develops their ability to empathise with friends and gives them the confidence to take on the challenge of learning - something children have found increasingly problematic as technology has been changing the way in which we live.

I am a mum of two, with a passion for giving my children and children I teach as many opportunities to explore as possible and can see the huge impact the Outdoor Explorers sessions have on children trying to work out their place in the world. These taught sessions follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One curriculum and are great either in schools and pre-schools or out in the community.

I will be posting more information soon about venues for play sessions, but in the meantime, explore all of the other packages we have on offer such as birthday parties, wedding creche services and mini kit hire.
