Happy Mother’s Day! 💕
Today we think of everyone shaped or changed by motherhood in all it’s guts and glory, in all it’s shapes and forms 💚
Today also happened to be my first Mother’s Day and it’s been really lovely for me. Well the cake and card have been fab but the relentless teething and whinging from Ella do leave a lot to be desired! Oh well, at least the sun is out and I’ve had a lush weekend celebrating her first birthday and getting to make up some gorgeous orders for you ✨

Hi lovely folk,
I’m sorry that I’ve been so quiet recently! I can’t lie, it’s extremely challenging to try to run a business, a home and be a full time mum. Who’d have guessed? But something has to give, and for now that’s been producing content 🙈 and maybe putting the laundry away.. but that might also have been a lifelong habit! Anyway, soon we’ll hopefully find a great childcare setting for Ella and I’ll have a bit more time to get back to my flowers 🌸
I’m squirrelling away behind the scenes again and hoping to be back with a big shop update soon. I’ve got to be honest, I’m not sure -how- soon just yet! But it’s coming. Dried flowers, pressed flowers, craft markets. All that lovely stuff 🥰
In the meantime I’m still taking orders as usual, so you can always DM me ❤️

Egg bouquets are my favourite way to create a large and luscious bridal bouquet 🥚🍳
They’re not as strange as they sound- the ‘egg’ part is a small egg shaped cage in the centre used as a mechanic to provide the shape without having to use excess materials. It also reduces the weight of such a big bouquet massively!

Let’s bring on 2022 🎉
I’ve been one for resolutions in the past, but it doesn’t feel right for me after these wild few years. I’m just looking forward to watching my little girl achieve new firsts and to celebrate her first birthday. To hold family close and to see those that I’ve not been able to see for years. To keep growing my business and to keep getting to speak to you lovely bunch!
In the -least- cheesy way possible.. I think 2022 is gonna be our year 🤞🏻

Hello hello! We’re back in the game at long sweet last. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the past 8 months of maternity leave, but now it’s time to get back to it 💐🌸
For the past month I’ve been working away behind the scenes to make some big changes for Velvet Flora ✨
Firstly, we’ve switched the name from Norwich to Norfolk due to a relocation. I’ve got a new studio in Thetford, but I’ll still be delivering across South Norfolk (and now West Suffolk.. North Suffolk? I’m not too familiar with the area yet!) Regardless.. eeek!! I’m so excited to have a new workspace 💕
The other bit of news is that we have a website! It’s live now and you can order directly through there. Of course, I’m still taking orders directly through DM for the time being 🥰
With all that being said, the diary is open once again so please do reach out if there’s anything I can make for you 💕 Thank you to everyone that’s supported me so far. I can’t wait to get back to delivering gorgeous bouquets, wreaths and everything in between!

That Friday feeling 👏🏻✨
Maybe not quite the same feeling as it might have been pre-pandemic (Groundhog Day, anyone else?) but cause for cheer nonetheless!
This weekend I’m hoping to get out in the garden and work a bit more on clearing space for a polytunnel and growing beds for veg and flowers. My stamina isn’t what it once was now that I’ve hit 32wks pregnant so it’s slow going! I hope you all have a lovely weekend too 🥰

Here’s a question for my lovely customers: would you be interested in me starting a deposit based vase return scheme?
I’ve placed this moody blues arrangement in a table vase. Stem Gem take plastics and recycle them in the UK to make these 100% recycled/recyclable vases. They’re super tough and durable and have a sweet pearly shine to them. I’ve currently just got this one for now, but I’m considering trialling a few more in different sizes to see if that might be something we could do moving forward 💖

I’ve had so much fun making these candle arrangements this past week! So obsessed with our red roses, these ones smell divine 😍 an arrangement like this starts at £30 with stunning Naomi roses 🌹

The last wreath is out (any last minute orders need to be taken before Sunday!) and I’m settling in for Christmas now 💝
It’s our first time cooking Christmas dinner this year so I’m glad we don’t have nearly as many guests as we might in a normal year! Only slight pressure 😅 let’s hope nothing gets burnt 🤣
