Announcement!

As many of you know, we also organise the Chester-le-Street Steam and Vintage Fair. This year, we were forced to cancel due to horrific ground conditions which pevented us from setting the event up in time.

As a result, we have decided to put this years Lanchester rally on hold, so that we can concentrate on getting the Chester-le-Street event re-scheduled.

The date for the re-scheduled Chester-le-Street rally will be the 21st-22nd September. Anyone who has purchased tickets or camping should already have an email with details on what to do with their order. If you have not heard from us, please send us a message.

We are in the process of updating pages and websites to reflect this info, so please bear with us.

We hope you are not too disappointed, and hope to see you at Chester-le-Street in September!

Big news! And possibly the worst kept secret of the last 3 months…

We are starting a BRAND NEW event at Lanchester showground for 2024.

We have an exciting opportunity to forge a brand new event on a blank canvas at our new venue, Lanchester Showground, on the 21st and 22nd September 2024

More details will follow, and a new website will be launched soon with entry forms etc.

This new commitment means that we won’t be able to run Barnard Castle, however….

A new team will be taking over the newly rebranded ‘STREATLAM SHOW’,

Day 2 of Barnard Castle Steam and Vintage Fair.

We have:

Miniature steam engines

Stationary engines
Vintage commercial vehicles
Vintage tractors

Various interesting displays including birds of prey!
Fairground rides
Beer tent and catering
A wide range of trade stands including autojumble
Living history and reenactment

We also have tractor pulling taking place throughout the day!

Exclusively, and for today only, you can also come and watch as we host the UK truck pulling championships!

Not long to go now!

We are doing our best to answer messages and emails, but in case you have a question, here is a list of FAQ’s to check before messaging…

1. Are dogs welcome? - Yes, dogs on leads are welcome, but please be aware that there is a lot of loud noise, including bangs and mock explosions from the re-enactment group.

2. Can you pay on the gate? - Yes of course. Adults £12, Kids (5-15) £6, OAPs (65+) £8, Under 5s FREE

3. Do exhibitors need to book? - Yes, if you’re not already booked in to exhibit, you won’t be able to display. All sections are now full.

3. Is there any camping space available? - Unfortunately we are now full for public camping.

4. What time does it start? - 10am on Saturday and Sunday. Things start to wind down at around 4pm.

5. Yes, there is ample free parking on site

We will be sending passes out about 3-4 weeks before each show.

If you have entered for both Chester-le-Street AND Barnard Castle but only sent one SAE, you will receive both passes before Chester-le-Street.

We are super excited to host the Uk Truck pulling champions 2023. Sunday only!

Back where it all started at Streatlam show ground Barnard Castle, a great family weekend lots to see and do.

Trucks will be pulled and pushed by male and female athletes, testing strength and stamina over a 25mtr course.

Steam on the road!

Two of our local steam rollers are making their way to Beamish Museum today, ready for the steam gala this weekend.

If you see us on the road, give us a wave and pass carefully. We should be in Chester-le-Street around 11.30am
