I've been to Naples once per year for ages and I always hit up this joint. Forget Tripadvisor and Google reviews - they'll send you to the trending places or the places that dine out on some history. This place is as genuine as it comes. It's just off the bus in the city centre, next to the train station. It's full of locals - they're also much better priced than some of the Insta-friendly places. You want to eat like a local? Hit up Scugnizzo.

I was steaming drunk when I recorded this. People are always trying to book Ludacrust for events in military bases, but the massive contractors don't allow them. It's bloody nonsense. You've got massive civilian companies telling service personnel what they can and can't eat at their parties. It's a bit of a joke, really. This is the standard of food they turn out - for massive sums of money.

We're award winners!!! Just bagged a Taste of the West award - and not just any award - a GOLD AWARD.
Had a surprise visit from one of their food critics who absolutely loved what we do and how we do it. Making a handmade pizza, in a handmade oven, topped with handmade cheese. Shout out to West Country Water Buffalo, who are also Gold award winners for their mozzarella.
Couldn't be prouder - what's next for Ludacrust, eh?
Some people ask the best thing about changing from ATC in the Royal Navy to running a pizza business. Hands down, it's the constant supply of amazing produce I get to eat.

🍕 From the Hull of HMS Queen Elizabeth to the Heart of Ludacrust! 🚢👨🍳
It all started in the unlikeliest of places – deep in the hull of HMS Queen Elizabeth, where I found an oven meant for curing F35 parts and transformed it into a pizza oven! 🔥 With pizza stones, a few stolen galley ingredients (sorry, chefs!), and a bit of cheek, I ran a secret little speakeasy known as the Circle of Crust 🍕⚓️.
It was here, in the middle of the high seas, that I honed my skills, experimenting, crafting, and perfecting the art of pizza. That passion led me to make the bold decision to step away from a 22-year career in the Royal Navy and follow my love for food, launching Ludacrust*– a new chapter, a new mission! 💪
