Another day of filming with Confused Adipose for Echo's Destiny, although this time it was more Sontaran shoot than it was Dalek, Dominic was playing the role of extra lol. But any and all Dalek business will be shown off here, and it's a good way of showing off my Sontaran costume which you could also hire out for your events if you so wished.
While Dominic was out for repairs and I was off doing other things, I sent Dutch VanderDalek out on his first solo mission, along with Cyber Stan, (canon name).
James Hatcher took them to a local fayre and they seemed to have a fun day, even if Dutch's eyestalk is, (much like most of him) falling apart.

Perhaps one of the more interesting days out I've had, it was very wet to begin with but thankfully cleared up when we actually got started.
I tried swapping out Dominic's wheels for bigger ones that could handle the terrain better, this worked... Until it didn't. We did it sloppily so the wheels collapsed when they got stuck in the train tracks, of all places.
Luckily someone was there to capture the moment lol. It put Dominic out of action while we refitted the older wheels, but he's all well and good now. We didn't make it to the end, but we got close.
I'm sorry for not updating the page in a while, I've got three events to catch you all up on.
Port Solent Comic Con, wasn't what I was expecting and we had some props who couldn't make it, but I made the most of the day and had a lot of fun. Got some AMAZING photos to, the Daleks at sea!
Quick little promo for my next event on the 8th June. I'm rallying the troops again for this one so should be able to meet the Daleks of Hampshire again.
This one is a completely free event which is the first time I think I've worked on something like this, so if you have the means to get there, why not come down and take a look, you'll have as much fun experiencing the event as I do working it!
Took on Southampton Comic Con today and what a day it was! Met Jo Martin who's absolutely lovely, James Hatcher wore the Cyberman costume I've put together and made a great impression to the public, met mates, and made people happy. Love these days!

I did another con today and what a day it has been. I will share the photos and videos later on, but first I think it's time to introduce you all to the gang.
Welcome to the Daleks of Hampshire, (unofficially, but we'll make that group one day!)
5 Daleks from Southampton, Portsmouth and Gosport come together to better exterminate humanity! A very diverse set of Dalek here, all with unique names and interesting back stories. From left to right we have:
Dalek Zog owned by Jay Groovara. A new series inspired casing with additional mesh added between the slats and a double gun stick for twice as much destruction! He is currently a static prop.
Dalek Dutch owned by me, stored in James Hatcher's garage. Mostly a Day of the Daleks Supreme but with red dome lights and a black eyestalk that lacks the pupil. He's the granddad of the group, as he was built in the year 2001 for a Dalek Art Exhibition in Southampton, and was brought by me last September to refurbish. He is currently a static prop.
Dalek Zarg also owned by Jay. A classic design inspired by the 1970s with additional ques from the movie Daleks with the dome lights and claw, topped off with a new series base. This war torn individual has had scratches and scrapes painted into him to simulate the battles he's no doubt fought in. He is a fully operational prop featuring lights and sounds.
Dalek Dominic also owned by me. You all know Dominic, an amalgamation of some of the most well known Dalek designs, taking heavy inspiration from the Paradigm Daleks. He is the only confirmed Supreme Dalek of the group and has attended more events than any of the other Daleks in the group. He is a fully operational prop featuring lights, sounds and a glow on the base.
And finally Dalek AARK owned by John C Bullas. The only one of the five to be a perfect recreation of a screen used Dalek, AARK is built to resemble a Renegade Dalek from Remembrance of the Daleks. He is a fully operational prop featuring lights, sounds, a glow on the base and a motorised skirt section.

Once again hosted by the lovely people at Vanguard Comics and held at Thorngate Hall, this lovely event will feature celebrities, photo ops, stalls and various nerdy props and costumes, including 5 Dalek props. Both Dominic and Dutch will be in attendance along with Jay Groovara's Dalek Zarg and new series variant with John C Bullas's Renegade Dalek rounding out the cast.
Gonna be lots of fun so definitely consider going!

Last Friday I once again worked on Nerd Night, an event, (that seems to be an annual thing now) put on by the Doctor Who Society of Wi******er Uni, of which I am a proud member!
Had an absolute blast! Rarely do you ever see a Dalek hit the dance floor, but Dominic has got the moves!
It was also Dalek Dutch's first time attending any event, as well as being the first event of the year. I'm so proud of Dutch VanderDalek, he may have only been a static prop but we threaded some lights into him and he looked amazing! Especially next to his half brother.
Can't wait for the next one!

I lied to you all, I'm sorry. I have now completed my final event for the year, with more filming taking place for Confused Adipose Doctor Who fan film 'Echos Destiny'.
I don't get personal on this often as it's my business page, but I really needed something like this to help me detox a bit after a rough few months. It's was incredibly fun and always a pleasure to work with Joe and the team.
Nearer the end of this year I will do a proper round up of how the year has gone, but for now I'll say I have done at least one event per-month, (excluding January and I think May?) I'm very proud of what I have achieved this year compared to last, and I haven't had a single bad memory yet. Dominic may only be my side business and not enough to make a full career at the moment, but he's come a long way still, and I couldn't be happier about that! Thank you to everyone who has liked the page!

We made a surprise appearance at the switching on of the Gosport Christmas lights today, somehow didn't get told off for just showing up. Even got to shake hands with the Mayor, didn't realise it was the Mayor until afterwards lol. Good to be back behind the wheel, but this will be Dominic's last outing until the new year, what a way to go out though!
He looks amazing in these photos, but will need maintenance before his next trip out.

My little tin can's growing up! Dominic did his first event without me today, brings a tear to my eye. Massive thanks to my business partner James Hatcher who stepped up and piloted Dominic when I could not, one day when Dalek Dutch is operational we'll both be pottering around, exterminating people. Til that time comes though, you've done good!

Saturday I did my first kids party with Dominic, not a common one for Dalek owners and I kinda knew why. This is no judgement on the people who hired me, naturally any event where I'm actually getting paid is a good event and they were lovely, but when it comes to kids interacting with my prop, it's clear they can be, rough with him.
So going forward I think the best thing to do is to put up prices on kid's parties, or just not accept future parties for people under a certain age. It's important that I take into consideration the safety of my Dalek and more importantly, myself when I'm inside it.
Anyway, I have been given permission to document photo from the party on my socials, however they haven't been sent through yet, so here are just a couple of the Dalek itself James Hatcher took while we were waiting for the go-ahead. And it was dark when we were packing him up, how could we not take some photos?
At last! I've met a Dalek that's short than me!
It's post con photo time and I wanna dedicate this one to all the people who've worked on Doctor Who as the villains, the Cybermen, Sontarans, Judoon and most importantly the Dalek operators. What you do is so often a thankless job, but being an amateur for lack of a better term monster actor myself, playing Cybermen and Daleks in fan films and cons, ik you give so much to the roles and it can be both restrictive and bloody hot in those costumes.
That's why as soon as I met Mickey Lewis today, official Dalek operator for the BBC, I knew I'd have to get a signed photo, specifically the one where he's popping his head out of the Dalek to say hi to the camera. I then got a photo holding the picture while popping out of my own Dalek next to him. A lovely moment.
If we meet again, I'll print out that photo and get you to sign that to lol.
Another event announcement, I'll be on the Isle of Wight on the 21st October for . Meet Dominic and Julian Gabriel Clarke for a fun day of nerd stuff.
Also wanna thank everyone for the support I've received since I started doing these events, I had only one last year but I've more than made up for it this year, and I feel blessed to have been able to work so many interesting venues and with so many new people. Thank you all! And the year's not out yet!

Hello everyone! It's time for an announcement. Last week I brought a new Dalek to join Dominic in the business, and today began the refurbishment work. The first picture is how he looked when we picked it up and the rest are what we did today + some with Dominic.
He even has a name now. Let me introduce you to Dominic's half brother, Dutch VanderDalek, (well, it'll be Dalek Dutch most of the time)
