Really saddened to hear about these planned protests this evening. Lots of businesses in the area of the protests are choosing to close early to keep everyone safe, including the Theatre Royal who have cancelled tonight’s performances.
We really really hope these are just precautions ‘just in case’ and the protests remain peaceful and not violent. We can only hope 😢
How awful for individuals in our city to be targeted like this. It must be so frightening. The Pogo Events team are sending love and thoughts to anyone affected. We hope everyone can keep safe out there this evening🧡💚🖤💛💜
We are disappointed that there is a planned demonstration in Plymouth tonight. This is not how Plymouth operates.
We have seen our fair share of tragedy over the past few years and throughout it all, we have shown that we stick together. Supporting each other.
The protest aims to divide communities by spreading distrust and hate.
Last night the Leader of the Council issued a statement re-iterating that anyone wanting to come to Plymouth to kick start any criminal, violent or antisocial behaviour is not welcome.
We are working hard to support local communities and together with the local police and other partners we have reached out to local community leaders to offer our help and reassurance. Our priority is that everyone is and feels safe.
We are also liaising with local businesses to make sure that they can make any necessary preparations in advance of the protests. We are deploying additional CCTV cameras to the area and offering our help to secure any properties e.g. scaffolding that are insecure.
However, to ensure your safety, you might want to consider staying away from the city centre from 4pm this evening.
We know that a number of businesses have made the decision to close tonight or close early. If you have any reservations or tickets for events, we encourage you to check with the venue to ensure they are still going ahead before leaving home.
We have made the decision to close Regent Street Car Park, if you are parked there already, you will be able to remove your car and Council officers are on hand to help.
City Bus and Stage Coach have also made the decision to reroute services away from Royal Parade from 3.30pm. Please look at their websites for further information.

We also learnt about Plymouth Community Choir last week. A fantastic, inclusive Acapella choir right in the heart of the city. The group are offering some taster sessions starting soon. Follow their page to keep in the loop with more news on this 🎶
We are gearing up for a new term here at Plymouth Community Choir HQ! Our Summer Sharing was a smash, and Daisy is busy preparing for the next season already. You can never start too early, right?
We'll be posting more information about our September taster sessions in the next few days, along with some sneak peeks of next term's songs and new term dates.

Hey everyone! We’ve got some promising news soon for the future of Pogo Events. We hope to kick things off again at some point in Plymouth. We are looking at new ways of working to keep Pogo Events and live music alive so fingers crossed and watch this space!
In the meantime, we have decided that we would be keen to host around 2 or 3 charity or community fundraising live music events per year. We would like to work with a lead volunteer for these events, who’s role would be choosing a cause that is close to their hearts as well as helping us to promote the show. They are also welcome to have a say in the acts that are booked for the event.
The lead volunteer could be part of a local charity, part of a band (that may also perform on the night), another promoter or just an individual who is passionate about raising money for a certain cause.

What a fantastic weekend at Maker Heights! It was lovely to have a change of scenery and we can’t thank Patchwork Studios enough for letting us host in their lovely venue space! Also huge thanks to our amazing acts Fidget and the Twitchers Drop In The Ocean Kill the Gun and Burning Bushes.. and of course YOU for turning up, supporting live music and dancing your socks off! Let’s do it again sometime?

Absolutely brilliant performance from Rioghnach Connolly and Honeyfeet last night! It’s not surprising Rioghnach has won UK wide awards for her incredible talents! It was a busy night as usual; however, a much larger percentage of ticket holders than usual didn’t show up last night, so we are suspecting there is a bad lurgy going around in Plymouth at the moment. We just hope everyone is ok out there! Hopefully everyone will be much better and up for a party by the time our next event comes around, which marks the beginning of the Xmas holiday period - Fri 22nd Dec 🎄🎶🎷🎻 We are welcoming back Horses on the Beach (funk, ska, reggae & more) with support from Hazaar (Klezmer knees up fun)

Another top night at Pogo Events! King Dinosaur - well… wow! We understand what all the fuss is about now! They totally blew us & the audience away with their high energy spaghetti western swing music. It was also a pleasure to have Feel Good Factory along to support, providing quirky swing/ska/gypsy style mashup covers. They were super 🤩 Thanks & hope you all had a great night!
