A Wedding Ceremony is ultimately about the couple that stand before you and how they want their ceremony to make them feel, to be able to relax and enjoy the moment. Within that is also their desire for the guests to really enjoy the start of the day, maybe learn something new about them as a couple, smile, laugh and feel included.

When you receive a note to say that the mission was accomplished and the ceremony was enjoyed by all, it makes all the hard work worth it. I know, I am very lucky that I love what I do.❤️

As a guest at a wedding ceremony what has stood out for you, made you smile, laugh or feel included? I'd love for you to let me know in the coments below 👇👇

Will you follow me? I'd love your support.

You may have read in an earlier post that I have recently launched Weddings & Wellbeing Coaching and I am really excited about it.

As a Certified Coach I am passionate about supporting all couples who are getting married to be at their best during the planning and on their special day.

Let's face it planning a wedding isn't the easiest, sometimes it can feel like having another job on top of the already demanding one you get paid for or that you have dropped a bomb by saying no to having kids at your wedding... I could go on.

I'm asking for your support today to help me get the word out simply by following my insta or facebook and sharing far and wide. I'll be sharing lots of good stuff that's for sure!

Weddings and Wellbeing is not location specific so a follow, share or a like overseas would be great too 🙂

If you want anymore information I'd also be happy to have a chat - just send me a DM.

Thanks

Lisa x

Be prepared!!

At a ceremony last week I arrived early as I always do, to ensure that everything is in place and I am so happy I did! Whilst getting ready one of the bridesmaids accidently tore her dress.

Luckily I had an emergency mini sewing kit in my handbag and came to the rescue. It got me thinking.. What else would be useful to have in your wedding day emergency kit?

Let me know and I will add it to my checklist!

Would you like to have a fantastic woodland ceremony?🌸

Using family owned woodlands Wes & Alex made their wedding vision come alive. Managing the process, the suppliers, and the finer details of the décor themselves, it was nothing short of amazing. They brought their ideas to life and enjoyed their wedding, their way. To reflect this they also wanted a ceremony that was lighthearted, had energy and was humourus where appropriate. I absolutely loved creating their ceremony and being part of their special day, I felt honoured to have been their Celebrant. 💕

Did you know that by having a Celebrant-led ceremony you can have your ceremony anywhere you chose AND at anytime? You can have your wedding your way!

Where would you have your ceremony if there were no limitations? Let me know in the comments below.

On the 4th of May 2024 I had the absolute pleasure of officiating Veronica and Daryl’s ceremony right in the heart of Birmingham’s Creative Quarter.
Veronica & Daryl were officially married a year ago in Australia where they have lived for many years. As Daryl is originally from the UK, they also wanted to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends over here. So, what better way than to have another wedding! So that is exactly what we did. The sun was shining, spirits were high and there was so much love in the room.💕

Thank you, Veronica & Daryl, it was absolutely my pleasure xx

Wedding season is definitely upon us and the sun has started to shine!

This week I have been busy creating a beautiful handfasting ceremony for a couple who really want to include a ritual that will add meaning to the promises the make to each other.

This ancient ritual, in which the couples hands are tied together with coloured ribbons, symbolises two lives joining together. It's also where the saying 'tying the knot' originates from and is a a wonderful keepsake of your special day.

Scroll through the post to explore the significance and meaning of each colour used.

Is there a ritual that you would like to include in your ceremony and which colours would you choose? Scroll through the post to explore the significance and meaning of each colour used. Let me know in the comments below.

So, what's so special about a Celebrant-led Ceremony? Well...

In a nutshell it's special because you are able to have a personalised ceremony that is ALL about you as individuals and as a couple and anything else that is important to you.

It's special because you have the flexibilty to choose any locatiion, at anytime.

It's special because it's written and delivered by a person who has spent the time getting to know you and will genuinely do their upmost to deliver a ceremony that will be remembered by you and your guests as something special and unique.

I could go on... if you would like to know more send me a DM and we can have a chat, with no obligation to book.

I absolutely love the spring and summer seasons.

Apart from the longer days and the sun trying it's best to make an appearance, I just feel more cheerful and have more energy.

As an Independent Celebrant it also means:

🎉Outdoor celebrations, surrounded by nature.
🌸Vibrant colourful flowers and decorations - the choices are endless
❤️Relaxed atmosphere - the sunshine seems to create a more laid back vibe
🌴Beach weddings - summer is the perfect time to say I do with sand between your toes

🤽‍♂️Fun-filled activities: Summer weddings offer the opportunity for exciting activities like lawn or festival games or even pool parties.

So, if you're planning your big day, consider all the options that summer wedding can bring and remember should you chose to have a celebrant led ceremony there choices are all yours!

Why I became a Celebrant..

I get asked this question quite a lot as people find it an unusal job to have and are curious about how it all came about..

Due to living overseas at the time, we chose to have a celebrant-led wedding in the UK and I am so happy that we did as I was really inspired by our Celebrant Louise. And that's where it all began.

She naturally show-cased the importance of what having a great Celebrant means and the huge positive impact that person can have on the atmosphere, the wedding party, and their guests. I loved the way we could make our ceremony so personal to us.

When we moved back to the UK, I wanted to explore the possibility of becoming a Celebrant and now feel as though I have found a passion that I am lucky enough to call my work.

I love knowing that I have put my heart and soul into the creation and delivery of a bespoke ceremony which brings happiness to my clients and their guests.

Lately I have been described as a professional fun-loving Celebrant, with a warm heart and great sense of humour. I am happy with all of that!

I'd love to know why you do what you do - let me know in the comments below.

Do you plan to or did you follow the tradition of Giving Away the Bride at your wedding?

More often than not my brides ask me if their is a more modern way of honouring their parent during their wedding ceremony. The answer is ofcourse is yes, as its's your wedding, your way!

Whilst there are many traditions you can follow it comes down to personal choice and what sits comfortably with you and your partner.

What are your thought on this tradition - given away or not or something else?

🌟 Did you ever wonder why the bride traditionally stands to the left at a wedding ceremony? 🤔 💕

Well, it all goes back to centuries ago when weddings were not just about love but also about capture and protection...

Tradition dictated that the groom should stand on the bride's right side. This way, his right hand, the one used for fightin, was free to draw his sword and fend off any other eager contenders who might want to steal her away!

However, times have now changed (thank goodness!) and thankfully we're no longer living in the dark ages. Nowadays, couples choose their positions based on personal preference or cultural traditions.

So while it's totally up to you whether you stick with old traditions or create your own unique twist on things, remember that what really matters is what you feel comfortable with.❤️✨

💍 Looking for a touch of tradition on your wedding day? Consider the charming custom of sixpence in your shoe! 👠✨

So, before the bride slips into those fabulous heels or comfy flats, traditionally the Father of the Bride should tuck a shiny sixpence inside one of them.

Adding a sixpence to your bridal footwear is an age-old belief that brings good luck and prosperity to the newlyweds. 💫 Who wouldn't want that?

What traditions or superstions will you be following at your wedding?
