I’ve been keeping a secret for too long...
It might just be my biggest wedding revelation.
It all started about six years ago at a classy wedding.
I witnessed a brilliant wedding singer being poorly received by the guests.
“How is this happening?” I wondered.
Some guests were cringing, and others, perhaps worse, were laughing.
I felt bad for him; he was genuinely a lovely person.
But his performance just wasn’t resonating with the crowd.
In comedian terms, he was “bombing” or, even worse, “dying on his arse.”
That’s when it hit me...
I realized the importance of perception.
Your wedding guests will judge the day you create for them.
It’s just how it is.
So, what’s the secret?
No, it’s not just “don’t hire a bad DJ” (though that’s crucial!).
It’s about investing in suppliers you’re proud to showcase to your friends and family.
Even more importantly, choose suppliers that match your vibe, personality, and energy!
Not every couple is right for me, and I’m not right for every couple.
When you hire suppliers that align with your vision, rather than just going for the first or cheapest option, everything falls into place. It’s a reflection of you, and your guests “get it.”
The reason this talented singer was essentially booed was that his song choice didn’t match the guests’ idea of good music.
He was more “Frank Sinatra,” while they were more “Ozzy Osbourne”—it just didn’t gel.

I soon as I set foot outside I realised my mistake 🤦♂️
I forgot my f’in brolly! ☂️
It was torrential 🌧️
It wasn’t like a close walk to the tube, we are talking 10 minutes at a fast pace! 🚆
I knew it wasn’t going to ease anytime soon and I just had to accept my fate with the weather gods 🤲
But as soon as that first drop hit my head I smiled 😊
Maybe a little chuckle to myself 😛
I remembered how fortunate I am 😅
To have a job as a wedding host 💒
To be a part of couples big day 🔔
To help bride and grooms make memories with their families 📸
Although I would have preferred to have remembered my umbrella 🙄 and not spend the next 2 hours a cold shivering wreck on the train home… 🥶
Id get soaked every day of year for this!
