I can’t believe I’ve had my dream job for almost a decade now - NINE years!? I still pinch myself daily!
I wouldn’t have a business without so many happy faces, willing to be drawn. Thank you to every person who has sat for or commissioned a portrait. I can’t tell you how many thousands of pens I’ve gone through but I’ve loved every minute! ✍🏼
I also wouldn’t have a business without my amazing husband + family to juggle the kids with around all the crazy and variable hours. I get to have my cake and eat it, spending heaps of quality time with my kids, working so much while they sleep, and getting to call my passion + hobby a job. 5 year old Cassie would be so proud!
Despite being in business for so long, I feel like I’m still very much in the honeymoon stage! It’s SO exciting, I absolutely adore running this fun company which is run on love, creativity and heaps of positive vibes.

Pinch me moment! Tonight I got to draw the absolutely gorgeous inside + out along with her equally beautiful + talented Actress daughter Poppy, and adorable Granddaughter - 3 generations of incredible performers and the sweetest family - we could have chatted all night!
I was a HUGE Corrie fan before I set up , back when I had evenings free! 😅 The Anna + Owen storyline was probably the biggest I remember from watching the soap, and of course having young kids who are fans, I’m always reminded of Owen + Anna when hearing Ian Puleston-Davies as King Thistle! 😅

Ma-hoo-sive step for Cornwall Caricatures - after running the show solo for 8 years and only ever outsourcing 2 small jobs in this time, I brought the fab into the business to help me with a few ad-hoc and stand-alone projects that had been on hold while I focussed on my pre-school age kids by day for 7 years (and running my biz in nap times and late nights). Since my youngest started school full time in November, Yvey came on board to help with some admin tasks to enable me to tackle other big projects which I’ve been smashing through, with lots more to come for Q4. Yvey helped me with 10 hours of work across 8 months, but it became apparent that I was still clutching on way too tight to my business baby and needed to let her in, in an operational capacity! The summer holidays are always crazy as I have my 2 young kids by day and work at events and venues almost every night, so there’s no time for admin and I’ve historically had invoices flying out at 2am in any gaps I could find. As Cornwall Caricatures grows and I’ve made big moves this year such as getting an office, launching school workshops, designing a new website (launching in Autumn) and launching a podcast, I knew I needed to be brave and hire Yvey to take the reigns on this chaotic time frame, which will free me up to focus on keeping my socials updated around all the drawing and mumming!
She’s already been in touch with lots of you and is doing an incredible job. I’m so happy with her fantastic service and proud of myself for handing over my original baby while I look after my human babies! 🥰
Excited for this new chapter for my business as we approach a decade next year for - big party announcement coming for that too! 🎉

So much fun entertaining guests at The Green Cornwall - starting off in the Green Room bar drawing on foot to keep guests amused while the main room changeover took place - then moving over to a seated caricature area in The Red Brick Barn for the night. I can be versatile and flexible to work around you and your guests, but one thing is for sure and that's guaranteed smiles and laughter from your loved ones! 🤩

I haven’t advertised the commission service for a few years now but I do take on limited orders around my busy live gig schedule (which is still very much open)!
I have had a fair few enquiries for photo orders recently so I thought I’d put a little post up to say order books are (and always will be) closed for the summer so I can focus on events. ☀️ I’m also currently working through wedding place card orders so the books will be reopening this Autumn.

This image has lived rent-free in my head since we booked the holiday and I knew I had to take advantage of the amazing who created some gorgeous family photos for us last year. They are honestly the friendliest guys and this literally took 5 mins while the kids watched the entertainment.
So - I had my first day back at my Co-working space today and after 3 bookings in 3 days upon my return to the UK, I can FINALLY say I’m caught up on invoices, receipts and enquiries across email, Instagram and Facebook.

SO shocked, surprised and proud of my 4 year old daughter today for joining me in drawing caricatures in super speed at The Barn at Pengelly, and even getting her first payment for her artwork which she absolutely adored! Cutest moment ever! I’ve NEVER pushed my kids to do anything that isn’t truly authentically them. Whether they want to go into Marine Biology, Basketball or Crochet animals, I honestly don’t mind as long as they are happy & fulfilled. But to see my little girl get the buzz of live caricatures and get paid for it - I couldn’t deny the pride! 🥰🙌🏼 Although I did tell her she needs to keep 20p for the tax man! 😂Thanks SO much to all these lovely people I met and drew!

Happy 8️⃣ Year Business Birthday to Cornwall Caricatures! 🥂Today was also my daughter’s first day of school, so this was the first time in 8 years that I’ve ever actually sat down to smell the roses 🌹 🤯 and I’m SO proud and emotional of what I’ve achieved, and I couldn’t have done it without my supportive and loving husband by my side, and of course all my fantastic customers. Doing what I love ‘in the background’ while growing and raising 2 babies and getting them both to school age, while being there for them for every special moment, has been incredible. I’m so thankful and grateful I decided to set this business up in 2015, not only is it my dream job but it’s enabled me to live my dream life and I’ve dropped my youngest to school today with absolutely no regrets, knowing I was always there for her in her early years. I have given my business and my kids every fibre of my being, and while it’s been a huge juggle (especially with Lockdown’s impact on my business 😵), and I’ve survived off coffee and adrenaline (what’s sleep? 🥱) - I’ve genuinely got to have my cake and eat it. And for that I’m bloody grateful. 🍰 We rarely get a chance in life to stop and pat ourselves on the back but this is a moment for me to take stock and realise just how far Cornwall Caricatures has come. I’ve always seen myself as a newbie in this industry because until only a year or so ago, (oh hi @reillycreativecaricatures 👶🏼), I was the UK’s youngest caricaturist with many other artists being in business since I was in nappies. But casting that aside and looking at my own story - 8 years is a bloody long time and as we edge closer to a decade, I thank my lucky stars I get to call this fun thing ‘work’. Thanks to everyone who has booked me, reviewed me or sat for one of my thousands of portraits over the years. You literally make my dream come true and I know I provide you with lots of happiness and special moments too. ✨
