Best Workplaces in Travel would like to congratulate all the winners at last night Travel Weekly Globe Awards. 🎉

No doubt there will be some sore heads this morning after all the celebrations last night!

Many of last years entrants for Best Workplaces were recognised including Easyjet Holidays as Best Employer and industry awards also went to Holiday Extras, Newmarket Holidays, Kuoni, Royal Caribbean, G Adventure.

Each year, Best Workplaces in Travel invites UK travel companies to take part in our industry-renowned employee survey.

We dig deep to identify what is truly important to your employees who are the heartbeat of your business.💖

Once the surveys have been completed in time for the May deadline, the data and insights are used to rank employers' performance across the different parts of the survey.

As well as each of the survey sections, we also include several ‘killer questions’ and employees can add their own comments (anonymously).

Well, it's almost December and the festive season is well underway! It’s also only three sleeps until Best Workplaces in Travel officially opens for entries for 2025!

Each year, our survey provides top travel companies with key insights about the main drivers and issues for those working across the travel industry.

The survey results are invaluable in highlighting some of the best aspects of the travel industry but they also provide crucial insights for HR teams to continually focus on any areas for improvement to enhance the employee's experience who are ultimately the heartbeat of every travel company.

According to a recent survey about men and their mental health, 77% of men polled said they experienced some level of symptoms such as anxiety, stress, or depression.

40% of the men surveyed said they had never spoken to anyone about their mental health and 29% said they were too embarrassed to speak about it.

Sadly many men don’t talk about things that are heavily weighing on their minds and instead try to deal with any worries alone but this can often have a detrimental effect on their mental health.

Sharing a worry or a problem isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength and the more we do to break the stigma around men’s mental health the better.

Many leaders that we’ve spoken to said that sharing their vulnerability with their teams during the pandemic really helped to break down some of these barriers.

Checking in with our male partners, friends, relatives and colleagues is important. You can find some helpful information on Mates in Mind’s website, they work with organisations to tackle the silence surrounding mental health.

Back from ABTA - The Travel Convention 2024 - huge thanks to the hosts Eleni Skarveli and Costa Navarino and the Dellar Davies Ltd team for their superb event organisation of this conference.

This year the convention is taking place in Messinia, Greece from 7th to 9th October and we’re excited to be attending. 🎉
