Happy New Year! Wishing you all a year filled with joy, peace and hope🥂🧡.

2022 was a year of adventure for us. We kick-started SoSoul Place in summer and organised two cross-cultural craft markets in two seasons. It was our honour to have met amazing makers artisans and entrepreneurs who are persistent in their crafts and dreams and to have engaged in inspiring dialogues with them as well as visitors from different cultures.

2023 will be another year of discovery and growth - one that will be filled with fun and action of more variety. We are resolved to stay curious and to bravely explore cross-cultural/cross-disciplinary possibilities.

Looking forward to seeing you all at our events this year!

2022 是充滿歷奇的一年。SoSoul Place 在夏季開始運作，舉行了跨文化的夏天市集和秋天市集，沿途我們有幸認識到多位堅持追夢的手作人和創業家，並與來自不同文化的訪客進行文化對話。

2023，我們將繼續勇於嘗試，透過不同類型的活動成為跨文化/跨界別的連結。

THANK YOU all for being part of our SoSoul market x Birmingham last Saturday, whether as stallholders, workshop providers, helpers, venue provider or visitors🧡. We hope you had a cozy time and a chance to get to know people and crafts from different cultures and backgrounds including your own and those of others.

For each event we strive to include different elements. Our first market in Summer had cultural seminars and guided tours. This Autumn market had workshops.

We hope to put forward events (PLACE) that bring people (SOUL) together (SOcial connections) and bridge any boundaries among their cultures or backgrounds. That is what SoSoul Place is about.

Like the life cycle of plants, it is a journey that takes time to shape and blossom and will be filled with experiments and adjustments at times. Thank you all for riding with us🤗.

For the coming year, exciting events of more varieties are on the way. Further details will be announced when ready.

They are going to give a Tea Tasting Workshop (in English and Cantonese) - Chris from Tea Project UK is going to take you on an 1-hour journey where you can taste award winning High Mountain Oolong Tea and 4 kinds of traditional tea and share interesting facts and stories behind the warmth and aroma of tea. You will leave the workshop with a warmed heart and mind AND a tester pack of OUHUIS rooibos tea (12 tea bags)😊

SoSoul Stallholders (5): Crafts of peace and hope for Ukraine

We are honoured to have Ukrainian crafters join our SoSoul journey.

PANIANKY ([email protected]) and sollechka (IG@sollechka_handmade) will join our market again🧡. We admire their devotion in helping their homeland and promoting their traditions and cultures.

As some of you may know, we met PANIANKY in the local community by chance and then got introduced to their friend sollechka. They then joined our summer market.

The story continues. sollechka has recently introduced her friend Zhanna Marshall to us. So here we are - blessed to have these wonderful crafters be part of our SoSoul market via which we hope their stories and those of other Ukrainians can be heard and supported by more.

Human connections should be as simple and beautiful as this: connect and share, and let the circle of bonding spread and grow.

Come meet these wonderful crafters on Saturday. Learn about their inspiring crafts, stories and cultures and the actions you and I can take to support Ukraine and the cause for peace and hope💙💛

We are honoured to have crafters makers and artisans from different cultures join our SoSoul market x Birmingham (Autumn 2022) on 19 Nov . They will be introduced here one by one according to their craft genres.

歐羅有機農場英國分部 AuLaw Organic Farm UK CIC and Botanica Flowers are lovers of nature who turn their love and passion in farming/floristry into delicate crafts. From seeds to vegetables/blossom bouquets, they show us the beauty of Earth's resources and the magic of utilising them sustainably.

A 10-day countdown to our SoSoul market x Birmingham (Autumn 2022) on 19 Nov is about to start!

In the coming days we are going to introduce each of our stallholders in groups - each group concerns one or two specific type(s) of craft that relate(s) to or connect(s) with a peer crafter maker or artisan from another culture. By doing so we hope you can get a glimpse of what our SoSoul market is about and what to expect from it — a unique cross-cultural craft market in Midlands where stallholders, workshop providers and visitors can meet and connect with those from diverse cultures or backgrounds including British, Ukraine and Hong Kong; our stallholders share our vision and passion in understanding different cultures, both our own and those of others. Simply put, each SoSoul market strives to be the PLACE where dialogues and seeds of friendship are planted and will bloom in their own time.
