lusive wedding venues across Lincolnshire, working with all their couples throughout their wedding planning journey. I’m a 21st century romantic who believes in soulmates and love stories, a wedding planning
guru. Since 2011 I have been involved in abundance of exceptional days, each one completely
unique, and each tailored specifically around them. For me it’s all about the love story, the
relived memories and the romance that fills each chapter. Not only do I support couples throughout their wedding planning journey, but I also design
and curate idyllic honeymoons in exceptional destinations. For too many couples a wedding
day is centred around everyone else, so let me design your first adventure as newlyweds that
centres completely around you. The most romantic and memorable finale to your wedding
journey, plus, poignantly, the first adventure as a married couple. One of the most significant pieces of advice I can offer when planning a wedding is to pause,
think and consider. Think about how you want your day to feel and how you want it to look. For me, it’s all about the venue and the location. Let that set the scene for everything else,
then throw in some magic, a handful of your personality, a hint of drama and a mix of
memories from your lives spent together.

A few weeks ago we were honoured to have been involved in creating a promo shoot and brochure for in Alford who are embarking on their wedding adventure, offering the most beautiful space for intimate weddings. For me what I envision can only be described as glorious family dinners (or even Christmas lunch) in the Ball Room with everyone sat round one large table sharing wine, good food, laughter and love stories ❤️

2024 wedding season is well underway and it’s created already so many beautiful memories that I am blessed to share.

And from that perspective, I’ve been inspired to start work back on my blog, sharing more memories of select weddings - giving you a little more of an insight to their day and their design. Hi 👋 I’m Amy Lauren, and after yesterday’s wonderful day meeting so many wonderful couples at Spring Open Day I wanted to share my excitement for this summer, next summer and beyond!! I have been in the industry for over a decade and feel so blessed to be working with the entire team at Hanbeck Farm and all of their amazing couples, past and present (It’s so lovely that so many feel so at home at Hanbeck that they pop back with their babies (eek) and share in the nostalgia of their days).

So in honour of over sharing here’s a few things not everyone knows about me, and, that makes me much more than just a business owner. I am someone who is passionate in life, love, happiness, aspiring to help, coach and create dreams into reality (and of course my couples are right at centre stage!).

1. I absolutely love the beach - I love the sand and I cannot wait for the next sunny day!! (Here’s me sat at the beach!)
2. Myself and my partner have built and developed an allotment (that basically takes over the garden) where we grow tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, chillies, broccoli, spinach, leeks, lemon trees, every herb imaginable and so many other things I can't remember!
3. I trained to be a college / university lecturer in Events and Business. I never actually wanted to teach, but, at the time, I felt pressure to pursue a 'career' - Thank the gods I graduated and admitted (basically on the same day) that I wasn't taking the position I'd just applied for and instead was going to work for myself full time planning and coordinating couples dream days.
4. I believe in manifestation and following your dreams. My life has changed in so many ways since I started listening to myself and believing that dreams actually can (and do) come true, you just have to want it enough (And I'm not talking lottery wins here guys 😄)
5. I have a spreadsheet for everything, and I admit I love to overly plan and organise my time and my life (though occasionally I do wish I left a bit of room for surprises)

I am so excited and looking forward to being part of so many couples, and their families wedding chapter!!

All you need is love!! Marry your best friend, your soul mate, the one you can’t live without. The one you can share your laughter and your tears. Who you can sit with through the joyous of conversations to the most difficult and challenging, knowing they will sit down beside you throughout it all. Love isn’t just about those butterfly moments that take your breath away, it’s about loving someone so much that you can’t imagine taking a breath without them. Every day won’t be a fairytale, nor a rollercoaster ride, but everyday should be a day that you fall ever so slightly deeper in love. ❤️

Love love love ❤️ your marriage service is the most hugest and monumental part of your day. Yet, a lot of couples get tied up in the aftermath of drinks receptions, wedding breakfast and evening events. Make sure you really think about what you want from your marriage ceremony. Put time aside to consider personalised vows, readings, song choices, and even down to the logistics - who sits where, which side do you walk down the isle, are you having a seating plan, who is taking your bouquet, do your ushers / groomsmen know which side (if any) or where your seating people (consider elderly relatives, can they enter/exist the rows, can they hear the words). Your ceremony should be more (or at least as) important as your wedding breakfast, so put aside some wedding planning time on your to do list to schedule a ceremony meeting!

Personalise vibes! // it’s yours wedding day so the chance to make your statement and personalise “everything!” Statement pieces you can look back on and remember forever. Personalised shoes (and jackets) are definitely one of my favourite concepts. A lovely idea is for your other half to write a personalised note under your shoe declaring their love and excitement, which will forever be stamped on your wedding shoes to capture that moment of joy.

Wedding dresses // there are so many favourites of mine that it would be impossible for me to choose. A little piece of advice, be open minded when dress shopping and try on the dress you think you won’t like, as well as the ones you have already fallen in love with, as so many brides completely change their mind and end up falling in love with the polar opposite of what they first thought. By booking a private appointment at a wedding boutique you tend to have more opportunity to bask in design choices, plus many will choose you a selection of dresses that they already ‘know’ will suit your figure.

Ensure you take a hair tie so you can tie/let down your hair as to how you imagine you’d like it on your wedding day. Wear makeup (if you choose to wear makeup normally) it makes a difference in how you see yourself in the dress. Take a pair of heels (if you plan on wearing heels on your wedding day) Plan plenty of time and don’t be afraid to go back another day and not make an immediate decision. Take a friend/family member, but make sure they are aware you want honest feedback. Consider the time of year you go dress shopping, and also the time of year you are getting married - although wedding boutiques hold a wide selection of dresses, many hold season stock too. Ensure you buy a dress that compliments the time of year you’re getting married, and also the venue that you have choosen.

Happy Saturday! // The first Saturday of spring 2024. So much excitement to look forward to this summer with abundance of weddings, a very exciting announcement and the start of our online wedding planning sessions available for ALL couples!!

Over the years couples approach me with very similar anxieties, stresses, challenges and concerns. I am currently writing a wedding planning book (not an ordinary one - something with quite a twist in perspective). Through the design process of such book, I have devised a multiple session series (each session lasting one hour), accessible for couples to access. The sessions are full of hints, tips and advice points focusing around specific topics…

*Stress factors and managing your guest’s expectations.
*How to deal with anxiety and not get overwhelmed.
*Couples biggest regrets and how to avoid them.
*How to make your wedding truly about you.

I can’t wait to launch them later this year and meet so many more wonderful couples!

Champagne Tower of Dreams 🥂 We love a good champagne tower, especially when you have fun, animated and beautiful photos (like this one) they are a great way to showcase and capture moments of you both having the time of your life together.

Couple photos - not to be missed! However, do seriously consider when you schedule them in to your day. You don’t want to remove yourself from the party, yet daylight (or golden hour timing considerations) are a big factor. Make sure you visit your venue and ask where the best places for couple photos area. And a final point, alcohol - if your drinking, please don’t have too much before your couple photos, as I promise you, when you get your album back you’ll instantly wish you hadn’t drank.

Candlelight beauties! We love candles and love it when brides incorporate them within their centrepiece. One recommendation however to always take into consideration (in-fact it’s a biggie!!) - make sure you buy none drip candles!! There is nothing worse than having lit your candles and within 5 minutes they are dripping onto your fresh white table cloths, and within 30 minutes they have “melted” into nothing but a wax melt in the centre of the table.

Cake / some of the best wedding cakes are the most unique ones. I adore a wedding cake, both a ‘traditional’ tiered cake, but also something a bit more personal. From cupcakes, to donuts, brownies to cheesecake. Individual sliced / baked produce are the most easily available for your guests and make for the best desserts. Yet let’s not discredit sliced wedding cake for those all important photos, in addition of course, wedding cake for breakfast as you reminisce the events from the day prior! 🍰

Invites and stationary. One of my favourite things about the lead up to a wedding. Invites are the way to introduce your guests to the style, theme and design of your wedding day. If you choose to have a rustic design for your invites your guests are sure to think it’ll be a rustic themed day, similarly to an elegant design. If you choose pink for your styling Grannie will sure be complimenting her outfit to suit so be mindful in your design and colour choices.

We are a huge fan of table plans. More recently, many couples suggest a free for all “sit where they want” approach initially, until they consider the reality of couples being separated, friends left out and family feuds when Grannie ends up sat on the distant table with her back to the bride.

I have always been an advocate of a well designed seating plan, and I personally advise seating people with friends / family they know to ensure conversation, comfort and prevention of anxiety, yet, with a sprinkling an mixing families and friendship groups so that the event becomes a one big happy family feeling!

And a little insight for those who already follow me, this time next year (just in time for Valentine’s Day!) I will be releasing a new book focusing on wedding planning advice from behind the scenes. AND excitingly (more excitingly for me as I’ve just this second decided the reveal date as I’m writing this post!) Champagne Towers are always so much fun! Fantastic for those final evening couple photos before your photographer departs and leaves you to dance the night away! They capture both elegance and fun and are a great addition to your love struck photo album created and crafted by a professional photographer. And do remember, you don’t need to use champagne for your tower, prosecco works just as good, either a magnum to pour together or two normal size bottles (one each) or just you want to really take advantage do both options for even more photo fun! (Some of our favourite snaps include … you pouring, drinking from the same glass and entwined arms sipping your own glass!) enjoy! 🥂

Not only did it make me cry to think how lucky I am to be involved in so many beautiful days with such wonderful couples, families, team mates and suppliers - but also how grateful I am for the relationships and friendships forged from the creation of a couples’ most poignant moment.
