First Look ✨

If you have the option, we’d strongly recommend setting aside 10 minutes for a ‘first look’ at your wedding breakfast room, before the guests all file in.

Being able to see your vision brought to life (before all the jackets hit the chairs and drinks end up on the table) is so lovely and it’s also a quiet moment to be together, to catch your breath and get some beautiful photos of just the two of you.

Gosh! It’s been a marathon few weeks for new enquiries and we’ve just caught up with our paperwork!

If you’re expecting a quote or a design concept, please keep an eye on your junk folder as everything has been sent out today.

As it’s our busiest time of year and we’re getting multiple enquiries for the same day, each quote is valid for 7 days – to try to keep it fair for everyone. Dates are reserved once a deposit is received.

I thought I’d peek out from behind the scenes to say ‘hello’ and put a face to the name. I’m Holly, the owner of our friendly and creative venue styling and floristry business and here’s a little bit about me…

I live half way between Bath and Bristol with my husband, Steve, (we were friends at school and have been together for nearly 22 years and counting!).

I’m Mummy to 2 gorgeous girls - one hilariously over-dramatic 10 year old (who is super creative and a stylist in the making) and one pocket-rocket of a 7 year old (who spends all her time on the football pitch or ‘smashing wood with elbows’ at Taekwondo).

We also have a lively blue whippet pup called Moss, who shares my love of cosy jumpers and has a severe aversion to being outside in the cold.

I’m half Spanish (my family live in sunny Mallorca) and I grew up in the significantly less sunny, but equally beautiful, countryside of South West Wales.

Having studied Art History and worked in the arts, interior design and for The National Trust for nearly a decade, I pride myself on being able to offer creative, professional insight and valuable design advice – helping you to transform that spiralling Pinterest board into something cohesive, achievable and genuinely gorgeous.

Along with our talented team of creative women (shout out to Vikki and Jess 🙌🏻), we create wedding magic from our Design Studio in Marksbury, near Bath.

'Tis the season for getting creative at home, as well as at the studio.

Tonight's task is to create 2 sheep outfits for my youngest and her bestie for the school nativity. I have a fleecey throw blanket and a pair of scissors (I'm trying to avoid getting the sewing machine out!) - so wish me luck!!

Shout out to all the parents whipping up their home-made costumes this week. We've got this! 🙌🏻

We're now well into December so it's time to start thinking about festive table styling ✨

When it comes to the Christmas table I'm always torn between calming Scandi vibes (warm n**e tones, crisp white and natural materials) and rich, deep jewel tones, with a bit of sparkle (we went for navy and deep red last year).

During our initial consultation we can get a feel for the look you’d like to achieve and filter through your inspiration images to tease out the very essence of your design. From this, we can create a gorgeously cohesive scheme, totally personalised to you.

You don’t need to have a set vision of what you want – my role as a designer is to guide you along this process. And (judging from lovely reviews like this) it seems we’re quite good at it! 😊

I love how the white lettering on this welcome sign really pops against this wooden panel (stained just the right shade of dark oak, of course 👌🏻).

Wooden signage and accessories work so well at our rustic barn venues – as shown here , near Bath. The perfect combination of natural materials with an elegant finish, creating a gorgeous, rustic-luxe look.

Crisp, white chiffon drapes and fresh vibrant greenery. Simple and elegant aisle style from last Autumn at The Moonraker Hotel.🌿🌿🌿

This look is also super flexible, working equally well in a rustic barn or contemporary hotel.

It’s been yet another busy week at the studio (‘quiet season’ certainly hasn’t arrived for us yet!)

Over the weekend we styled and flowered a wedding , a surprise proposal (she said yes! Yei!) and we’re now delving into prep for 2 weddings and a wedding fair this coming weekend.

To top it off, I’m battling some sort of delightful virus (the reward I get for volunteering on a sewing project at the kids' school and getting sneezed on by 30 kids!)

Right, time to get stuck into this week’s tasks. Wish us luck!

‘Tis the season of texture and we’re all for it!

Incorporating dried grasses, flowers, seed pods and berries brings so much depth and interest and not just within floral designs! We love adding dried textures to chair backs, signage or place name cards/menus, like the lavender and bunny tails used to enhance this suspended table number. Such a cute, seasonal detail.

This relaxed, informal, yet totally elegant centrepiece looked perfectly at home in the beautiful barn last weekend.
A carefully selected combination of candlelight and bud vases, on top of a ruched chiffon runner is a great way to bring colour, texture and ambient lighting to your wedding breakfast…

“Look natural whilst holding the bouquet” - our ever patient Jess spent quite a while attempting an artful photo of me and this is as good as it gets (I get profoundly awkward in front of a camera - you should see my own wedding photos!).

As a designer, I’m far more comfortable behind the scenes - making beautiful things and bringing creative visions to life. It’s what brings me joy and is why I love what we do 🤍
