Centrepieces ✨

When it comes to centrepieces, one of the first decisions is whether to go high or low.

Some people like the drama and impact brought by tall flower stands (and high ceiling rooms often benefit from this décor at height) but others prefer more intimate, lower level centrepieces, so guests can easily chat across the table.

Lower level designs absolutely still pack a punch and allow guests to really admire the details of your design up close.

Wreath designs are an ever popular choice, blending textured foliage and florals with atmospheric candlelight.

Candles or no candles?!

You’ll see from our grid that we are a bit candle mad here at Ambience (you can never have enough candles in our opinion!).

People often ask if there’s any point having candles during the daytime and my answer is nearly always – yes, there is! Whilst you might not get the flickering atmospheric glow that candles bring during the evening, candles are beautifully elegant and decorative items in their own right and bring much needed colour and textural contrast to a tablescape, alongside their metallic, glass or ceramic holders.

They really elevate a scheme and sit so beautifully alongside various floral designs.

If you’re on the fence with regards to candles, I’d say go for it! You won’t regret it!

We’ve seen chair styling evolve greatly over the last 5 years…one of our favourite styles is this, loosely draped chiffon on a crossback chair 👌🏼

Not only does the white fabric enhance the dark wood of the chair and flooring, the silhouette the chiffon casts is beautifully elegant and not too dissimilar to this stunning bridal gown

Oh my goodness - January has been a record breaker and it isn't quite over yet!

We've had our busiest start to the year ever, with a record number of new bookings. We've met some lovely new couples and I've really enjoyed coming up with some exciting new designs.

From chatting to couples I've noticed that people are valuing their time more than ever before. After the huge amount of planning and expense associated with the big day, fewer people are willing to sacrifice precious hours on their wedding morning to unpack boxes, set-up tables and dress chairs. Instead choosing to delegate these elements to a trusted professional and focus on being present, relaxed and truly immersing yourselves in some of the most memorable days of your lives, surrounded by family and friends.

We’re loving seeing the professional photos from A & T’s wedding last year, captured beautifully by

This scheme was all about the deep greens and wild foliage, accented with warm, twinkling candlelight and subtle gold touches. It really brought the barn alive and created a rich, cosy atmosphere (despite the torrential Autumnal rain outside!).

These tall box stand designs continue to be super popular centrepieces for 2024 and ’25. Created without the use of any plastic based floral foam, these displays really bring the drama – adding height and impact, without obstructing the view of your guests. They are super versatile and can be designed to be wild and foliage heavy or full of luxurious tumbling blooms. They never fail to elicit a 'wow' from your guests!

We're a day late with this one - as I was enjoying a lovely few days with my family in Wales. With 4 sugar fueled little kids, one very excitable Spaniel and endless monsoon-style rain, it was a wonderfully chaotic way to end 2023!

We are now re-charged and re-focused - ready to tackle the New Year and continue to build our business.

We three new bookings confirmed on New Years Day alone- it's looking like 2024 is going to be a strong year, with some incredible designs in the pipeline. 🙌🏻

✨Let’s celebrate!✨ My business baby is turning 3!

This is a month of celebration at Ambience Bath & Bristol as we hit a couple of major milestones.

We’ve now completed 3 successful years in business. Starting off trading in Bath and North Somerset in lockdown 2020 (eek!), we then went on to acquire the Bristol Ambience franchise in December last year and we’ve gone from strength to strength.

From starting off working from my kitchen table, with stock piled throughout every corner of my house (I’m not kidding, there were candles under my kids’ beds and chair drapes in their wardrobes!) and ferrying items about in our packed family cars – we’ve now got a lovely Design Studio in Marksbury, our own van and a team of wonderfully creative women who help us create spectacular weddings for our clients.

There’s been plenty of highs and of course some very long days, stressful times and pulled muscles (my massage therapist is on speed dial!) – but I’m so grateful to our clients for putting their trust in us and in our ability to deliver amazing results and a really personal, high quality customer service (so says our 5* Google Reviews! 😊 ).

So a big thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this point – from family and friends, to our clients and the amazing venue staff we work alongside. Your support means everything.

Onwards and upwards for 2024! 🙌🏻

Seating plan gorgeousness ✨

Combining delicate small frames, bud vases, candlelight and fabrics can transform your seating plan into a real focal point.

Here we contrasted champagne against moody dark charcoal chiffon, accompanied by fresh ivory roses, mixed dried textures and fragrant eucalyptus for a stylish autumn/winter look.

It’s been a day of Christmas tunes and festive jumpers whilst Jess, Emily and I worked some floral magic in the studio today.

Fueled by a massive tub of chocolates, we’re now ready to roll for tomorrow’s epic wedding. With a super early 5.30am start (eek!), I’m very relieved that the freezing weather has past by and we’re up to a balmy 4 degrees C here.

Tomorrow’s celebration is full of luscious greenery and candlelight. It’s going to be a stunner! ✨

I do love it when a client throws us a design curve ball!

When I first met this super stylish bride, she warned me that she had an unusual, non-weddingy colour scheme in mind and that many people didn’t ‘get it’. So I braced myself….

However, when she told me her dream for a sleek and moody Autumnal wedding in shades of champagne, charcoal grey, dark coffee and olive green, I instantly thought that this could look spectacular! Perfectly suited to the epic interior , we set about designing a complete scheme full of texture, details and romantic candlelight.

The outcome was something incredibly atmospheric, special and totally memorable.

It's been a busy few weeks styling beautiful autumnal weddings (I've built some muscles from lugging a lot of pumpkins!) and we've now got a quiet couple of weeks to catch up on admin.

We want you to receive maximum impact and value from every item we provide for your wedding – so we always look to explore ways of re-using items in different places throughout the day.

With the simple addition of 2 slightly taller gold stands (to bring some height variation), these box stand floral displays looked fantastic framing the Bride and Groom during the ceremony. An impactful and contemporary alternative to urns on plinths.

We then moved the displays so they could feature as bold centrepieces for the wedding breakfast.

We’ve had some fab feedback and comments regarding these designs. It seems you’re loving this colour scheme as much as we are (those toffee and quicksand roses were epic 😍!)

What a temperature drop this week! It’s official – the heating has gone on (well, at home at least –the studio needs to remain perpetually cold for the flowers).

It’s been a super busy day writing new design proposals and sending out quotes. And our wonderful Vikki and Jess have been busy in the studio prepping for this week’s 3 events 🙌🏻.

Now it’s time to clock off for the day and cuddle up under a blanket with a chai latte and watch Strictly with my girls🤍 . Have a lovely evening everyone!

Now the chilly weather has set in it feels like autumn is finally here. 🍂

We’ll be celebrating the start of cosy season with our annual family visit to Stourhead to see the colours of the Japanese Maples. It’s ridiculously beautiful at this time of year and the girls can just about manage a lap of the lake (with the incentive of a hot chocolate at the end!).

We have a very busy few days ahead, with 3 wonderful weddings to style next week – full of cosy candlelight and rich autumnal colours.
