With just 9 Mondays to go until our Monochrome Monday fundraiser for The Burnt Chef Project, we thought we’d give you a little insight into what you can expect throughout the evening, with a sneak preview of our amazing raffle & auction prizes, available on the night.

First up, what is The Burnt Chef Project?

Launched in May 2019 The Burnt Chef Project was setup with the sole intention of eradicating mental health stigma within hospitality and now spans every continent in the World!

Kris Hall, the organisations CEO has worked in various hospitality sectors over the years and has seen first-hand how detrimental the industry can be to mental health – with long anti-social hours, pressures to perform, tough environments and low salaries.

Alex became an ambassador shortly after launching Eat Street, with Laurel joining in 2025. Having both experienced mental health issues during their hospitality careers, within different departments, we knew we wanted to do something to help support the huge sector on the Isle of Wight. As a tourism destination, hospitality professionals are expected to work 247 during the summer, with the risk of losing their job at the end of September but still expected to work long hours over Christmas.

As one of the largest sectors on the Island, it’s vital we do all we can to help support all hospitality staff, from chefs and front of house to HR & housekeeping.

Join us for Monochrome Monday to raise awareness of this amazing organisation and help raise funds to ensure their wonderful work can continue to grow.

Monochrome Monday is a fundraising event for The Burnt Chef Project, proudly supported by some amazing Isle of Wight businesses. We've got a couple of posts over the next week that highlight different areas, and what you should expect from the evening.

Being held at the beautiful East Afton Farmhouse , this event aims to raise all important funds for a wonderful cause, whilst also raising the awareness and profile of the work they do to support all areas of hospitality.

First up, we have our welcome drinks provider, The Unknown Bar Company , who on the night will be mixing up some bespoke cocktails and mocktails for all guests.

Followed by a 5 course Journey around the World tasting menu from 5 fabulous Island chefs. Snacks are coming from South America, courtesy of Damian from Artisan Cafe. Then we head over to Asia with a starter from Seb who works in Mental Health Services, before we head back to the Americas with a North American dish from Ramona at Stripped Brasserie.

More information on following posts....

Tickets are only £65 per person, with an option to upgrade to a VIP table. This includes a welcome goody bag.
