Join us this Sunday 11:00 - 13:30 at The Red Store, Lerryn for a relaxing few hours to create a beautiful living spring wreath to adorn your door, or as a centrepiece for your Easter table.

Taking inspiration from the emerging spring flowers in the hedgerows and in our gardens, we will use living plants and bulbs, catkins, ivy, cutflowers and some dried elements too, to make miniature gardens/ hedgerows in wreath form!

Following care instructions, this will look beautiful for Easter weekend and beyond. You can then transplant the bulbs and plants in your garden or a planter for a continuous display the following year!

Delicious seasonal refreshments will be provided for fortification whilst we create.. wild garlic scones and a glass of prosecco being one option :)

To book your place, contact Alice directly:
07584 551337 [email protected]
or for more information visit www.fawen.co.uk/workshops

Can't make this Sunday? We are running the same workshop on Thursday 21st March, 17:00- 19:30 over at the lovely Crocadon Farm cafe. For booking details, contact them directly.

We looking forward to welcoming you and sharing the joy of creating with nature!

There is a multitude of activity going on behind the scenes here at Fawen at the moment.. As well as orders to fulfil, wreath making, market prep and bulb planting, we are also planning what we will be growing next year..🌱 💐

We have had a few wedding consultations recently which is fantastic and informs what we will be adding to our ‘must grow list’ 😊

This is beautiful Amy on her wedding day in May this year. We were so pleased to be able to provide late flowering anemones and ranunculus in her bouquet of blues, white and touches of blush💚

We accept a small number of weddings each year whilst our business is growing, so we can devote our full attention to you and your special day to make sure everything is just right.

Do get in touch if you would like
to learn more about our services and to arrange a consultation.

Have a lovely day everyone.. a field day for us here.. whilst the sun is actually shining!! ☀️😎🙌

A jug full of autumn delights for you on this grey Wednesday morning 💚

I have to confess, I have struggled to find my Instagram mojo lately - with so many things keeping me busy at Fawen; seed sowing, bed clearing, season planning, cutting and wrapping orders, workshop prepping..it’s tricky to find time for posting! Do you sometimes find the socials a bit of a challenge to keep up with? Would love to hear your thoughts! I’m thinking it might just be an age thing 😏

As you can see, the dahlias continue to look spectacular- there are a couple of varieties in particular - (peach cactus variety) & (orange pom-pom)that have been churning out flowers since June and are still going strong! Beautiful is less productive but so stunning that she is worth the space and we plan to plant several more next year for wedding work.

We have some late flowering varieties that have just gotten going! & . Both keepers.💚 Drop us a dm if you are local and would like a mixed bunch for the weekend 😊

We have a few spaces left on our workshops! Click on the direct link in our bio if you would like to nab a spot and join us for a relaxing few hours of wreath making. Delicious, seasonal refreshments are included in the price. 💚

Wishing you all a happy hump day!

Huge congratulations to I&J who married on Saturday! 💕

It truly is an incredible honour to be asked to create the flowers for a couple’s big day and this couple have been so lovely to work with over the past year.

Meadow vibes with dahlias were the brief, with touches of dusky pinks, lavender, blues, white, gold and greens 💕A whimsical mix of all the very best of August’s delights.

More photos to follow.. our first corner archway installation, bridesmaids, boutonnières and table centres..

But now we are on holiday! 🥳🤩
Karen is keeping check on all the flowers at Fawen so we will be ready to receive your orders again from next week 💚

See you soon! Alice x x

That shift of summer energy towards autumn..

With a definite nip in the air and so much rain lately .. we’re wondering if the summer warmth will return at all this year? August is the new October perhaps?! 🤷‍♀️

Merging, rather than linear seasons are a likely trajectory we must expect, embrace and adapt to..

Hot pink dahlias nestled in a tangle of vibrant green -tinged red- bramble leaves.. stems of dock seed reflect back at the dahlias and red berries, nod to the ripe blackberries and tie them all together 💜

A dedication to my cousin Nick, who very sadly died last week. Sending love to all of our family in Canada xx

A golden bouquet for a golden anniversary 💛

Filled with lots of flowery detail, featuring three different sunflower varieties: ‘Stromboli’, ‘procut white’ and ‘green fill’, Rudbeckia ‘Irish eyes’ Achillea ‘cloth of gold’ Dahlias ‘henriette’ and ‘totally tangerine’ and Gladioli ‘green star’. All locally grown here at Fawen following organic, chemical free practises 🌿

It’s been a busy and emotional week here at Fawen headquarters! Marking the end of an era with our youngest completing her primary years…I am a right old sentimental one and after 15 years of school runs.. it’s strange to think they’ll be no more!😢Also a relief too - no more school hill chaos.. and more time for this wonderful business that has been slowly, patiently growing alongside family life. More than anything else, a sense of immense pride, being alongside each of my three children growing up - through the ups and the downs. It is a privilege that I don’t take for granted. So that’s me..

Thank you so much for all your lovely orders this week. I have especially enjoyed putting bouquets together for teachers and teaching assistants who deserve so much respect for the sterling job they do in such challenging times 💛 🙏

Next availability for bouquets is from Wednesday 26 July, with our next flush of flowers coming through! 💐

Head over to our new website if you would like to order www.fawen.co.uk

Happy Saturday everyone 🌻

‘Thank you’ bouquets going out this week for the hard working teachers and teaching assistants that do such an amazing job for our children
(Swipe to see Quality Control).

My youngest is leaving primary school today and she found the perfect words to add to our bouquet gift tags

“thank you for all you have done for me”

Oh boy, it’s going to be an emotional day!

Thank you to all the teachers 💚.

Dahlia spam is about to begin!

This pretty peach ‘henriette’, was the first of the season to show up, next to the rambling sweetpeas..which I will be cutting early doors tomorrow. Three days away, a bit of rain and they’ve grown like mad! Which is how we like it. Thanks rain 🙏
Lots of beautiful colours, textures and scent are making their way into bouquet orders this week, I am thoroughly enjoying having such a gorgeous range of flowers, foliage, grasses and seed pods to work with.

This is godetia ~ another name for her is ‘silk flower’ or ‘satin flower’. Our first year growing godetia and to be honest, I wasn’t sure it would be my cup of tea! But.. she is mesmerising. Silk-like petals that almost don’t look real..Godetia lasts really well in the vase and has a luxury quality that would be perfect in a bridal bouquet…there is a white variety too that we will be adding to our grow list for next season! 🤍

Now is a great time to get in touch if you are a bride-to-be or a local florist and would like us to grow specific flowers for you. Dm or head over to our (new!) website. Link in bio..

Oh and a mention for the white filler flowers in this display, which I love just as much ~ cleaver flower, you know the sticky w**d you see in the hedges? Take a look along the hedgerow.. so so pretty.

There are so many reasons to love British grown flowers on this British grown flowers week!

is a great place to learn more and find your local grower 🤍

Have a great day

A warm welcome to our new and not-so-new followers 😊 A little bit about me & Fawen 🌿

My name is Alice, I am a flower grower, florist and the founder of Fawen ~ our family run, sustainable floristry business, based near Lerryn, Cornwall.

Fawen (pronounced ‘FO~wen’) is a Cornish word, meaning ‘Beech tree’. Inspired by the majestic, old beech trees that line our field, where we grow the flowers..plus, our location here in the Fowey Valley (the name ‘Fowey’ also derives from the word ‘Fawen’). See story highlights for a peek at the trees! 🌳

I’m wife to Julian, Mum to three..plus a stubborn sausage dog, Bessie who is mostly by my side when I’m working at the field.. or off barking at pheasants 🙄
Before taking the leap into flower growing & floristry, I worked with children & families. My background in Playwork and Yoga entwines with who I am and how I work with flowers: playfully and with deep reverence for nature.

Nurturing flowers from seed to bouquet is a lot of work but an absolute joy; bringing people flowers to honour special moments is the very best bit 💐

More on how we grow our flowers coming soon..

Take a look at our brand new website to learn about our offerings.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend 🌞

1. In the barn studio
2. Arranging flowers for a June wedding
3. Creating a winter bouquet in Feb using our own & British grown flowers
4. My two boys 💚 they take the mickey out of me constantly and make me laugh so much! I should tell them off really..
5. With my girl 💚 she monitors the wildlife at the field and sometimes helps with planting.. but less and less now she’s getting all grown up😢
6. ._.mitchell
