TOP PICKS:
Candles make a perfect table decoration at weddings. Because they come in all different colors, candles can easily match your wedding theme and bring the whole room together. Not to mention, they can be lit later in the night if the reception is outdoors, bringing in a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Bruce and Tara have picked out some of their favorite candles to share with you this week:

Bruces’s Top Picks:

1. ’Tuberose’ and ‘Baies’ Candles from diptyque: I love them because they’re perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding.

2. Byredo Candles: They are my go to brand for scent, and though I love ALL of their candles, I think the ‘Altar’ fragrance suits a church or country house perfectly.

3. ’Sampaquita’ by Ormonde Jayne:It’s the candle we chose for my own wedding - the sampaquita flower is the national flower of the Philippines and translates to “I Promise You”.

Tip: Avoid using scented candles as part of your dinner tablescape as the scent can be overpowering and put guests off the food. Go for long coloured taper candles in varying heights instead. Ester & Erik are my taper candles of choice every time.

Tara’s Top Picks:

1. Jo Loves Pomelo Candle: It’s actually the scent I wear anyway and I think it was Bruce who bought it for me first. I have it burning in my office every day as its so fresh and calming

2. ‘Verveine’ Candle from The White Company : I burn this in my kitchen as somehow it manages to dissolve the lingering smells after cooking that an extractor fan always seems to leave behind

3. ‘Baies’ Candle by diptyque: This is the candle I burn in my house as I find it very restful and calming - the same as Bruce’s!

This period between the ceremony and reception is the perfect opportunity for guests to grab a drink and mingle with one another, slowly transitioning into party mode! This week, Bruce and Tara share their top 3 personal favorite cocktails for the perfect Cocktail Hour.

Bruce's Top Picks:
1. Virgin Mojito: A great option for those who want to balance the alcohol intake or those who prefer nonalcoholic beverages. Not to mention, they look great and are super refreshing for outdoor weddings.
2. Pimm's: A quintessentially British drink that is absolutely delicious and looks great!
3. Expresso Martini: They are a fun addition to a dessert buffet, but definitely do not recommend drinking them all night!

Tara's Top Picks:
1. Aperol Spritz: A great option for a summer drink as the colours and glasses look amazing in photos. This bittersweet Italian cocktail is perfect for smaller weddings!
2. Chambord and Champagne: The perfect fruit champagne cocktail that won't stretch your budget!
3. Elderflower Cordial: A sweet and refreshing non-alcoholic option - if you're feeling adventurous, try making it at home!

Spotlight Series: DUBLIN
Today to complete our spotlight on Dublin we will feature City Hall, with its rich history and prime city centre it is the perfect location for your nuptials.
City Hall was built between 1769 and 1779. The build took ten years to complete. Initially when it was built, it was built as The Royal Exchange. The beautiful building is now owned by Dublin City Council .
