Congratulations to Kester & Lisanne!
What a fairytale wedding - taking place in Kester’s family home welcoming Lisanne and her family from Holland. The ceremony took place in their forest amongst the Rhododendrons, followed by drinks in the stunning gardens then onto the beautiful marquee for the meal and reception.

A Site Visit is a MUST!!!

It's essential for a me as a wedding planner to visit the wedding venue or site with the bride and groom for several reasons:

1. By visiting the venue together, I can ensure that I understand the couple's vision. It allows me to see first-hand what the couple envisions for their special day.
2. Walking through the venue with the couple allows me to offer expert advice on how to maximize the venue's potential while staying true to the couple's preferences and budget.
3. During the site visit, I can address any questions or concerns the couple may have about logistics, décor, and other details.
4. Ideas can be exchanged, and decisions can be made together.
5. Exploring the venue together allows me to identify any potential challenges that may need to be addressed in the planning process and offer a contingency plan.
6. Visiting the venue together allows the couple to envision the magic of their wedding day unfolding in that space and solidifies their trust and confidence in my ability to bring their dream wedding to life.

Overall, for me visiting the wedding venue with the bride and groom is a critical step in the planning process that enhances communication, gives couples confidence in my planning and ensures that every aspect of the wedding reflects the couple's unique love story and vision for their special day.

Your ‘Centrepieces’ are an important part of your wedding decoration.

With so many options available, here are a few things to think about when choosing yours -

1. Pick a theme – Romantic, boho, glitzy etc.

2. Consider the venue – Different venues suit different styles ie barns suits more of a rustic/relaxed theme.

3. Budget – Set One!! Your centrepieces can be simple/affordable or extravagant/costly – both can be just as beautiful. Keep to a budget and don’t be lead astray!

4. Tall or Low – Using different heights in your centrepieces creates depth and contrast to your overall look. Remember tall centrepieces may obstruct the view of your guests (using glass will help!) Low centrepieces are good for creating a more intimate feel.

5. Table Shape – Round tables suit singular centrepieces; Rectangle tables suit multiple centrepieces spread along the table; Square tables suit larger and fuller centrepieces.

6. Lighting – If the room is dimly lit, consider using candles and lanterns.

7. Most Importantly – Don’t overdo, especially if you are having sharing platters for the meal. You don’t want your tables to look cluttered!

I had the pleasure of visiting Christine and Chris at their beautiful studio in Ayr. Christine Sadler Jewellery had a shop locally since 1999 but recently they’ve decided to offer a more personal, high end service with a consultation studio that is available by appointment 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm. Couples are able to book in and choose their wedding rings at their luxurious studio in complete privacy which is so much more relaxing and enjoyable an experience than queuing for a shop assistant. The extended opening hours make it more convenient for customers to shop together for rings when it suits them best. Consultations can also be carried out online or by whatsapp if the bride and groom aren’t local to Ayr.

I would highly recommend a visit to Christine Sadler Jewellery if your looking for your engagement or weddings rings. Christine’s original designs and rings are amazing!

Great afternoon celebrating International Women’s Day at The Marine Hotel at Ayrshire Hospice Ladies Day.

It was a ‘Loose Women’ format with Carol Smillie, Jane McCarry, Jackie Brambles, Jennifer Reoch giving some hilarious trade secrets and The MacDonald Brothers ending the afternoon with a tune on the fiddle!

It’s Leap Day - a perfect date to get engaged or think all things wedding!

It's the 29th February!!!

According to tradition, it's ok for a woman to propose to a man today.
Seemingly St Bridget complained to St Patrick that women had to wait too long for their partner to drop the question. The obliging Patrick supposedly gave women one day to propose!

So no excuses girls - go for it!

Did you know a huge part of my job, as a wedding planner, is to liaise with your venue not only on the day of the wedding, but also leading up to your day?

I make sure your venue is aware of your timings, supplier’s details, dietary requirements, table plan, rooming list etc. Then there’s the smaller details like granny Mary needs a cushion on her chair, the best man requires a projector for his speech!!!

I make sure nothing is forgotten, everything runs to perfection ensuring you have a stress-free day!
