DJ Biography

Clarke+East aka Nigel Clarke and Jon East have 50 years of DJing and production experience between them! Both started their careers during the early rave days with Eastie playing legendary London haunts The Dungeons, Labyrinth & Astoria. They both followed the house sound of the 90’s and played all over the UK at seminal clubs and nights including Bagley’s, Camden Palace, Club UK, Cafe De Paris, Turnmills, Legends, Sankey’s, Frisky, Godskitchen, Taste The Punch and many more.

In the mid 90’s Eastie set up Koolworld Records with Graham Gold (Peach/Kiss FM) and Dave Wooster releasing over 40 tracks and reaching number 2 in the dance chart with Invader. In 1997 Nigel started Speedfreak Recordings and went onto produce a huge bootleg of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean called OnePhatBillie, which was played by Pete Tong & Judge Jules on Radio 1. Nigel went on to become a resident DJ at the world famous El Divino Club in Ibiza and has been lucky enough to DJ around the world in Brazil, Egypt, China, USA, Singapore, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain.

Now both DJ’s have come together to form the mighty Clarke+East DJ & Production duo, where they have taken all their experience and decided to do something different, literally rebuilding, editing and remixing every tune in their sets to create something unique. They have built up a huge volume of exclusive edits and now is the time to unleash them, it’s old skool re-imagined for today’s pumping dance floors.

With a solid residency at Shhh, gigs at Pikes Ibiza, Peach, We Are FSTVL, Shhh Festival and many more, 2020 looks set to be their finest year yet! Clarke+East have hit the scene and this time they’re gonna run with it!
