We were absolutely delighted to be finalists for Small Business of the Year last night at The Broadland and South Norfolk Business Awards! Such an amazing evening full of inspirational and exciting Norfolk businesses.

The hugest congratulations to all of the winners and finalists, the sponsors and of course the amazing team who organised the evening (a real treat for the Huxley team to be attendees at an event!)

What a pleasure it was, last week, to head to Norfolk Garden Kitchen at Hoveton Hall to see Alex Firman and the team with EEEGR (East of England Energy Group)

Ahead of their large gala dinner at it was time to sample menus and choose some delicious options. We were treated for such an amazing range of dishes from canapes, mains, desserts and petit fours. All the options were just absolutely exquisite and made choosing the menu quite a challenge!

It is so important when heading to food tastings to think about the audience who will be with you, the range of dietary requirements, dishes and their service times, how likely the night is to run to timings (we absolutely recommend not having ice cream based desserts as speeches have a tendency to overrun!) but also not being afraid to go with something new!

One thing I admire about Alex's food is the locally sourced ingredients (we love their current collaboration with Flint Vineyard which was evident throughout their menu!)

We can't believe it's nearly two weeks since Huxley Events organised the incredible EEEGR (East of England Energy Group) End of Year Celebrations & Awards!

This was the third year of planning and delivering this event alongside the wonderful EEEGR team! As always a huge thank you to everyone involved, all suppliers and other organisations who made the night such a success, including our 3-strong Huxley Event Management team on the night ensuring everything ran smoothly!

About last night 🤯 We completely transformed The Assembly House into an Enchanted Forest for our clients End of Year Celebration. From the unbelievably stunning theming to the fun activities! There was terrarium making, a 360 photo booth, LED stilt walker greeting guests, an amazing DJ and even a mind reading stage show! 🌿

With just 3 weeks to pull the event together, its safe to say we had some Huxley Events happy clients! ✨

Lizzy, who managed the pre-event, was professional, super responsive and went the extra mile to help us create an unforgettable enchanted forest ball for our team in Norwich. Luutsche's on-the-day management was also outstanding, super fun and kept everything running smoothly. The design of theming, the suppliers and vendors and the communication were just what we were after. Highly recommend!'

Happy Birthday to the Queen of Huxley Events, Kate Gaskin! 🎂

You will usually find Kate organising events, working behind the scene's as well as presenting our crime events (did you know Kate is Ex-Police?)

Having been involved in planning large public order events such as football matches, Notting Hill Carnival and protest marches latterly in the police, her planning skill were easily transferable to the events world!

Yesterday we helped a company celebrate their 100 year celebration, and I think they might have had a great time? We absolutely LOVED creating this event with our client who was just the dream to work with.

"Yesterday was so much fun! Our staff are still talking about yesterday now, and the MD and I have received many emails thanking us for the event and letting us know how much fun they had.

I want to give a big big thank you to everyone at Huxley and to Victoria and Michael. It’s thanks to you all that we were able to mark this milestone successfully, and everything was so well coordinated I was able to enjoy the event too. Food was amazing, mocktails were great. I was surprised at how much everyone loved the VR (including myself).

I’ve just looked through the photos, and wow! Great pictures to remember the day.

We love having busy event weeks at Huxley Events! This week we have two exciting (and very different) events on this week. Tomorrow Steve and the team are heading to London for an immersive Crime Scene Investigation team building experience for 60 guests, a morning experience where guests will work together to forensically solve a crime (based on a real case Steve worked on!). In the evening, Steve is back with guests to talk Psychopaths, where guests will get the opportunity to look at their own psychopathy (and why it's not always a bad thing).

The end of the week then see's a mega fun company summer party for one of our longest standing clients. A fully themed Greatest Show style experience for 150 guests, hosted at their offices! From hog roast to Virtual Reality arcades, Ice-Cream to theming (and so much more). We absolutely love the custom cookies we had made from a small business for this event too.

We just love the variety of events we get to work on! ⭐

We were blessed with stunning weather for an evening of Axe throwing, Archery and Garden Games at the beautiful Caistor Hall Hotel Norwich for a client event last week.

How gorgeous are the lawns and backdrop for this activity? 🌸 The axes especially proved to be hugely popular!

🍻 If Carlsberg did events...

Yesterday afternoon, several of our team had the pleasure of attending the Loveday & Partners Summer Festival, and what a fantastic afternoon it was!

The event showcased some of Norfolk’s finest independents, offering plenty of food and drink vendors, local charities, and even a flight simulator with SaxonAir Private Air Travel! ✈️

Huge thanks to Simon, Jack, and the entire Loveday & Partners team for hosting such an excellent event. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

This week we've kicked off with several venue finds for clients upcoming events🏨

We spend hundreds of hours every year researching, recommending, quoting and keeping up to date with the top venues for our clients corporate events (from conference locations, small meetings, summer and christmas parties, away days and team building events).

We've put together our 5 top tips on finding the best venue for your corporate event:

⭐What are your actual needs: Consider the size of your event, location preferences (look at where people will be traveling from), ensure you know your budget, and any specific requirements you may have such as AV equipment, catering options, accessibility and transportation links.

⭐Look at your options: Don't settle for the first venue you come across. Research multiple venues to compare facilities, services, and pricing to find the best fit for your event.

⭐Check it out: It's hard to tell much about a venue just by looking at photos (although we in the Huxley office do love 3D venue tours). Schedule site visits to potential venues to get a feel for the space, layout, and ambiance! This will help you envision how your event will flow and gets your to experience it before your guests do.

⭐Check reviews: Look for reviews from previous clients or ask for references from the venue to get a sense of their reputation and the quality of service they provide.

⭐ Negotiate and book: Once you've found the perfect venue, negotiate the terms of the contract, including pricing, services, and any additional requirements. Make sure to get everything in writing and confirm all details to avoid any last-minute surprises! (Think about things like AV, table linen, if you'll need extra space for performers or speakers green rooms etc).
