Just wanted to let our faithful and enthusiastic followers know that after a fabulous 5 years of coordinating community events for Longbridge, Friends of Longbridge Open Spaces - FLOS is sadly being closed. This is because the new owners of the town centre have withdrawn funding for these activities.
Thanks to everybody who supported these events. We have enjoyed every moment with you!

So far the weather's looking good for the weekend, which is lucky because Santa's coming to Longbridge to help light our Christmas tree!!!!

........And - if previous years are anything to go by - YOU!!!!

It was lovely to see such a large variety of the community represented.
Special thanks go to Longbridge Shopping, as well as God's Heart For Longbridge and most certainly to the Kings Norton Youth Marching Band whose music and haunting Last Post bugling brought all to a very respectful and reflective silence...
It was also good to see local Councillors there...

Exciting news! The Xmas lights switch on event is happening again this year in Longbridge Town Centre!
Starting at 4pm on Saturday 19th November - the event features Santa, a stage with DJ, Local guest singer Mitzy and Northfield Notes Community Choir.
Plus this year there will be a Giant Snow Globe, Face painter and Balloon artist and hot food and drinks! It's going to be fun!

Ellie's class is for men (yes, come along fellas and surprise yourselves!) and women of ALL STANDARDS, even if you just want to enjoy moving to the music and being at the heart of the community!

At the Zumbathon event on Saturday 12th June - there will be a healthy option market - try Greek, Mexican, Smoothies and Vegan Ice Cream!

FLOS was established in 2016 following a research project carried out by LPAP.
Resulting report showed that there was a need for improved community cohesion in Longbridge following the closure of the Rover plant and the subsequent demolition and then rejuvenation of the Longbridge site. This would partly be achieved by the use of the Open Spaces around the new town centre for community led events. Hence FLOS was born.
Community members are invited to contact FLOS to suggest their own events to be held in Longbridge.
