(Number 6) Tinlicker - Starchaser

Just missing out on the top 5 is the return of the superb Dutch duo “Tinlicker.”
Famous for so many amazing remixes and their own productions which are stellar.
This track simply came out of nowhere for me and I love the fact that it got released on which is a label close to my heart, especially for its incredible compilations over the many years! Some of the best you will ever hear trust me on that.
Tinlicker have become one of the best progressive house/melodic house acts around, with massive tunes like their remix of “Children,” also they remixed ’s “Hide U,” of course their fantastic album from last year “In Another Lifetime.” Which a track that I couldn’t get enough of hearing or playing and that was “Just To Hear You Say.” So this track called “Starchaser” was released in August, for me it’s up there with the best tune I’ve heard from them as it’s so uplifting. This track is truly captivating with its ethereal melodies, enticing beats and mesmerising soundscapes. The track has elements of both prog house and prog trance, they are such a creative force and this track just shows how instrumental the Dutch duo are to the world of electronic dance music. A track that feels like a beautiful melodic journey with the depths of it captivating rhythm and euphoria! Another quality track from these highly innovative duo! I hope enjoy this epic feel good tune!! 🏠 🎵🔥💥🎧🙌🏼🥳🥰❤️

My Top Ten Progressive/Melodic House/Melodic Techno Tracks of 2023:

(Number 7) Three Drives - Greece 2000 (KREAM Remix)

Next up an absolute classic from back when I first started to DJ back in 1998. A trance classic that has to be one of my all time favourite trance tracks, it’s a real anthem and it has had so many different remixes. And this year this talented duo decided to have a go and let’s just say it worked rather well. A bit about this Norwegian duo, they are brothers Daniel and Markus “Slettebakken.” They are known for their unique combo of bass driven progressive house music, with usually melodic vocals running thru it. They have remixed for some massive pop stars including “Anne Marie” “Zara Larsson” and “Dua Lipa” just to name a few. So to this remix of a stellar trance classic from the late 90s, this remix is made for the club dance floor with the main melodies and riffs used to great effect alongside hi hat percussion, deep bass and key chords that echo in and out. It has a much darker feel to it than some of the previous remixes, but it certainly uses that main riff to its best effect! A track I will never get fed up of hearing, it is a great prog house remake but it will never beat that original in fact I don’t think anyone will achieve that feat! (Number 8)Maxim Lany & Pretty Pink - What If I Want You

Now this next track is a combo of these two fine DJ/producers whose unique styles clash together in some style. So a bit about “Maxim Lany” first, this Belgian born electronic dance producer has been a staple for not only , but also the spreading his unique style of sound across the world. His DJ sets take you on a unique but intoxicating journey. And then there is the energetic and passionate “Pretty Pink” who embodies the whole dark, deep, melodic, progressive house sound that she has becoming so known for. The German born DJ/producer has risen so quickly over the years, she has her own radio show and her own record label . She is the future of the electronic dance music scene and tracks like this show why. Released back in August on electronic Elements, this track combines both styles of artist with a real feel of dark eerie melodies running thru from the start, echoey basslines and as it drops near the start you get electronic penetrating synth lines. It then drops for a breakdown with a female vocal surrounding by the haunting melodies. Then it returns to the electronic synths with its ending! Wow a track that blew me away on first listen! Those melodies really hook you in! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

(Number 9) Marsh feat. Leo Wood - Fall To Pieces

So we come to the first of many tracks by this producer who for me is simply not only the best in progressive house music, but his album “Endless” is hands down my favourite album of the year. He produces the most amazing feel good melodic tracks I think I’ve ever heard. “Marsh” deserves all the success in the world the guy makes such beautiful passionate music. And this track which is taken off his album is without doubt one of the standout tracks from it, featuring the talented vocals of “Leo Wood” this track has a great build up from the get go with so many melody layers. From the chords, to the dreamy pads and the beautiful vocals. Then it drops and changes with some catchy breaks and a strong main lead synth. It’s almost like it’s two tracks in one!! Trust me listen to this album it is pure bliss and there are so many tracks of his that could feature in this chart! Hope you enjoy this amazing producer who for me makes simply breathtaking music!! 🏠 🎵🔥💥🎧🙌🏼🥳🥰❤️

(Number 10) JPL - Honeycomb

So here we go with my first pick of my top ten tracks in this selected genre chart.
We kick it off with a very unusual track that really does sound like a throwback to the classic progressive dance music days of the compilations. A real deep progressive sound which for me is a cross between deep house/trance and with the BPM at 124 it certainly has a more prog house tempo than trance. What I love about this track is the atmospheric space like vibe about it. JPL is a progressive trance/house pioneer, released on in July, I loved hearing that epic old skool progressive dance music feel, with some echoing melodies and chugging rhythm it’s a clever and unique track!
