Next up in our series looking at the services we provide is our award winning wedding packages! We recently won Outstanding Wedding Supplier at the Nation’s Wedding Awards in recognition of the service we provide. We are so proud of this! Our wedding packages are tailored to you and your wedding so you can pick for yourself which play areas and activities you would like or you can give me an indication of what you are looking for and I can make suggestions to suit the day. We offer a wedding entertainment package where children are free to come and go from the play space, a crèche service where we will follow Ofsted ratios and care for the children, change nappies, play games and supervise the children which we find works brilliantly in the evening so we can also offer a sleepy space for little ones to crash while the parents party on! Finally we offer a 1:1 care package where we can care for a child in the wedding party. We take them for walks, play with them and make sure they are there for all the key moments on the day so you don’t have to worry about nap time, if they have eaten and the grandparents are free to enjoy the party too! Next up in our play area spot light is our most popular play area and it’s our construction site! I love the children’s creativity in this play area… yes they love to build towers and knock them down but they also embrace a challenge and I’ve seen them build pirate ships, patios, castles, chairs, stairs even the Great Wall of China! Add the construction site to your party booking or hire it on its own… it’s a great choice! Oh and we have 3 of them so there is almost always one available! 😘

Over the next few days I’m going to focus on the range of services we provide and tell you a little bit more about them! Lets start with one you are hopefully familiar with… it’s our party hire!
Our parties come highly recommended and we aim to be hassle free. You can choose the play areas to make up your village and we come and set up in a venue of your choice for a party that’s packed with fun and keeps the children completely entertained and happy so you can sit back, relax and enjoy socialising too! We take photos for free and send you these after the party to use as you wish. We have a range of optional extras you can add on to make things even easier on the day from catering to party bags, teas and coffees to arts and crafts.

Twinning! I love seeing the Pop Up vans together… it just makes me smile and Frank sent me this yesterday from his visit to Pop Up Play Village - Swale this week! I’m a little bit jealous of the fresh sign writing on Lauren’s van… so shiny and new! 🥰

It’s been a while since I last did one of these shout outs but I’m a firm believer in supporting local and loved taking my niece along to a couple of sessions with Alison at Tot Cross Buns when she was younger… they were awesome! I love the way she gets the children to learn about what they are putting in the recipes and that they are encouraged to taste some of the ingredients too as my lovely niece was definitely someone who struggled with trying food so it was a win for her to test if her teeth liked it, if her tongue liked it and if her tummy liked it! So child focused and JUST what she needed! Alison has classes running locally to Basingstoke and they are well worth checking out! If you would love a shout out then drop me a message!

Let’s take a closer look at another of our role play areas this morning and today it’s the supermarket! It’s a popular choice and our supermarket can also be adapted into a farm shop which works perfectly paired alongside the cafe! Filled with gorgeous wooden foods for our little villagers and shopping baskets to aid their visit! I love watching the children using the shopping lists to choose their items learning early reading skills from a young age as they can match the pictures to the items and begin to recognise words too. For our school visits we can add writing templates so they can write their own shopping lists and we also have shopping bingo games and activities that tie in perfectly to the play area. The children adore the till and all the noisy buttons and the microphone to make customer’s announcements which is super cute! We are off on a school visit this Wednesday and making final touches to our planning this morning. All our sessions are tailored to the setting we are visiting and can be linked into the curriculum through our planning so they are much more than just a chance to play and include a teacher led input to start the session off. I can’t wait to share the village with you this week!

Frank is off on his travels today and after grabbing a lift with him last week I’m a little bit sad to have to stay home and plough through emails and be on the laptop all day! Let’s take a closer look at another of our role play areas this evening. Tonight we are focusing on our Baby Nursery. Great for encouraging children to care for others and develop a sense of empathy towards the babies they are caring for, this play area is all about feeding, changing and playing with the babies. Taking them for walks and tucking them up in bed! We have lots of accessories and plenty of babies to go round! Add the baby nursery to your booking or hire it on its own and enjoy lots of baby role play fun at home!

Learning through play is such a natural response for children they don’t even realise they are learning and they are often mimicking what they are seeing adults doing in the roles around them! It’s why our role play village is so perfect for them as they can recreate what they see adults doing everyday. From looking after the babies in the nursery to shopping for dinner, practising brushing hair, arresting the bad guys and putting out fires, becoming a super hero or a princess or going on a treasure hunt. They just love to be like you and like their idols from story books, films and television programmes and through role play they can be! What does your little one love to role play? A shout out about our multi-award winning wedding services following on from yesterdays win at the Nations Wedding Awards! We set up and run a choice of packages for you and the little guests at your wedding or family event! We can provide entertainment in an adjoining space so children are free to come and go and engage with a choice of play areas or activities set up by us. Alternatively we can run a crèche service which follows Ofsted guidelines and we will care for the children while the adults can relax, unwind and party! Finally we have our 1:1 nanny service where we will often care for the bride and grooms own child or another member of the wedding party and for this package we can make sure the littlest guest is changed, napped and fed we take them for walks, entertain them with toys and games and make sure they are available for photos and cuddles with family when needed! Today has been ALL about the kit cleaning post Welly Park! I’ve been up to my eyes in soapy potion bottles, eyeballs and pumpkins and discovered I definitely don’t have enough space to dry all the banners, gazebo sides and table cloths as I’ve had them draped over everything today! I’m quite glad this evening to have been able to get most of them folded up and put away… what a mission! One thing is for sure… we always put cleanliness first and it’s a top priority to make sure our kits are s**c and span before they go out to play again! 🧼🧽🫧🧺

Todays mission is to play catch up and get through emails after being so busy last week but I also have the task of getting our pumpkins ready as we haven’t had a chance to carve them yet!! I’ve got to get them prepped and then it’s a quick 3:30pm carving session to get them out on the doorstep on time!! Wish me luck! 🎃🎃🎃

Just a little thank you this evening to my team who have been just amazing over the past 11 days setting up the tent with us and then running the biggest 9 days of jam packed fun at Welly Park we have had yet! Did you know we have a post office role play area? This is a great play area for all those children who love posting things as they can post and sort letters to their hearts content! Our post office makes a great addition to a Christmas themed session too as it can include letters to Santa at this time of year. I just love the creativity coupled with the conversations I have heard in the tent over at the stick whittling this week. Parents… I love the way you ask the children questions about what you should do next to decorate your stick… and the way you discuss the patterns and colours that the children are choosing. Honestly the conversations just make my heart sing as there is so much learning going on. Children negotiating how to whittle safely and their adults showing them and reminding them of the instructions we have given them to whittle away from their fingers and to make sure they are sitting down safely. The children describing with such pride what each part of their wand does and what spells they are going to cast! Such epic imagination and creativity… I just had to share just how much joy it has given me so far to listen to! Thanks for making me smile! 🥰🪄🪄🪄

A flashback this morning with a spooky craft idea that is super easy to try at home! For this activity I did with a pre-school last October I cut out a pumpkin shape from thick card and then covered the hole with thick sticky tape to leave a sticky surface. The children loved collecting autumn leaves, acorns, feathers and all sorts or autumnal treasure to fill their sticky pumpkin!
I also did some at home with our youngest who also chose to fill one of her sticky pumpkin shapes with sequins and all sorts of coloured tissue paper and items from our craft box to make a shiny colourful pumpkin which looked amazing! If you have a go at this craft then I’d love to see your creations!

We love visiting schools and bringing our role play village along to enhance the curriculum and while we love linking into the topic of ‘People Who Help Us” there are so many more opportunities to use our role play village or Outdoor Explorer activities to support learning in Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two! Our planning is linked to each area of learning and can include STEM activities, writing opportunities and much more! If you are looking ahead to next half term or thinking about your planning for the rest of the year then now is a good time to get in touch and plan on a visit from us! We can make regular visits, termly visits or one off visits and we would love to enhance your curriculum.

Role play is a great way of teaching children life skills including empathy for others and lots of our play areas have this skill right at the heart as the children learn to care for other people in the hospital, care for animals in the vets and care for babies in the baby nursery. It’s a great skill that I love watching the children demonstrate in their play and we can focus on this skill with our curriculum planning when we visit early years settings so that we encourage the children to think about how they can help to care for other people and animals.

Resource prep is keeping us busy this week and it’s always exciting adding new toys to our play areas and these gorgeous pumpkins were a must a few weeks ago when I saw them! They will make a great addition to one of our pumpkin sensory trays at Wellington Country Park next week and make up our pumpkin patch role play area too for our visits to early years settings at this time of year! Win win!
