This casket display was created for a family who wanted to honour its patriarch with a tribute which mirrored his love of plants, flowers and the great outdoors. The image doesn’t quite reflect the 6’ length of the arrangement, nor does it capture the detail of this gentleman’s passion for Narcissi, Spring blossom, the Japanese Maple, Rhododendrons, acid blue Hydrangea, Holly, Rowan berries and, surprisingly, his love of the Roselily! A base of moss and heather peppered with Pheasant feathers paid homage to his fondness for the hills and the sporting gun.
Sympathy tributes are one of the few final ways we can honour those we have lost. There ought to be nothing standard or off-the-shelf about something so deeply personal.
Sympathy work is an honour and a privilege and I’m filled with gratitude to families like this one who trust us florists to deliver our best for them.
