The new series is launched 𝐓𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖 starting with Gilbert and Sullivan on Saturday 1st February. Booking is essential as we are serving finger food!

There is limited seating and as this event is selling like hot cakes do get in 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘 if you want to come. There is plenty of parking in the field opposite and you will be guaranteed a very warm welcome and an enjoyable couple of hours.

This week Music in the Burnhams is very proud to announce we have launched our new website created so well by the team at Fakenham Prepress Solutions: www.musicintheburnhams.com

They have done a great job and have been very patient with the ever demanding me. The new series is launched too this week with a fun evening with Gilbert and Sullivan on Saturday 1st February. Details attached. Booking is essential as we are serving finger food.

There is limited seating and as this event is selling like hot cakes do get in this week if you want to come. There is plenty of parking in the field opposite and you will be guaranteed a very warm welcome and an enjoyable couple of hours.

🎶 𝐀 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐲 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬 🎶

This is the story of Gilbert & Sullivan as seen through the eyes of George Grossmith, the actor who created the comic roles in the Savoy Operas. It stars TIM HURST-BROWN as Grossmith, ably assisted at the pianoforte by PETER HEWITT. Grossmith gives us an insight into both W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan and enables us to meet the Sergeant of Police, Ko-Ko, The Lord Chancellor, Major-General Stanley et al. THE STORY OF GILBERT & SULLIVAN is a light-hearted evening of stories, songs, poems and music centred on the immortal Savoy Operas. If you are a G&S fan then this occasion is a must!

"It was an excellent evening's entertainment, one of the most memorable moments being the sight of Mr Hurst-Brown, with Machiavellian gown, stalking around his haunted arena in the Ghost's High Noon from Ruddigore.." - North Shropshire Journal

"Through the eyes of actor George Grossmith, Tim entertained his listeners with a light-hearted mix of patter songs and solos from the best-loved Savoy Operas. Tim's delivery and diction in the fast patter-songs was faultless and he was most ably supported by pianist Peter Hewitt. The operetta Fantasias were admirably played.. " - Plymouth Herald

Tim Hurst-Brown began his musical life as a chorister at Peterborough Cathedral, where he trained under Dr. Stanley Vann. Whilst in the choir he frequently broadcast on BBC Radio 3, toured and was privileged to sing at the funeral of Sir Malcolm Sargent.

We've got our first 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰!

What Clive mentions is absolutely true! Our aim is to include young people whether that is in school workshops or by having them at our recitals.

Our shows are 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 with different kinds of music, sometimes rather peculiar!

Finishing touches on the website are taking place and will be good to go soon...

The children work so hard to create this charming "Look towards Christmas" event of songs and poems. It would be great if you could come and support them! Seeing the joy on their faces as they hear the applause is worth all the effort we at Music in the Burnhams put into these "productions!"

4pm it starts with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies beforehand. Do come!
