The Party kit has been busy in 2024 with 3 parties so far and two more for February still to come. Get in touch if you have a party coming up and you are passionate about reducing waste.

There is no charge for the kit although we`ll take donations which will go towards either the Secret Garden Outdoor Nursery or Dunbog Primary School Parent Council. In this way, we`ll support local children and help to make parties more sustainable.

Despite not actively promoting my kit this year, we still managed to help prevent single use plastic/paper waste with regular hires. Remember, you can't recycle single use paper plates due to the plastic coating on the paper and food waste residue.

We also have other helpful items in the kit such as a table cloth, plain and happy birthday bunting, reusable pass the party bags and more.

We have some changes coming up at Party Kit Fife... the first being our name change to party Party Kit NE Fife. This isn`t to discourage people from elsewhere hiring but Fife is a big place and it helps to show where we are.

The kit has been busy over the past year (unlike our social media posting!) and the new changes should make it even more popular. Stay tuned for news of our changes.

A kind friend of mine has "paid forward" a party kit hire for a person who wants to try it but can't really stretch to it financially. Message me if you have a party or event coming up in 2022 and you are interested in using this.

I know a lot of parties are cancelled or scaled back at the moment but we used it for my Son's party last weekend with just two other families and it was really helpful and made the set up in the hall look brilliant.

The Party Kit had a fun trip out yesterday to a spooky extravaganza in Tayport 🎃💚. The new blue serving platters safely transported the eyeballs and spooky hummus with their handy clip on lids and saved set up time once at the party.

Throwing a party this Halloween? Try our zero waste party kit and go green for Halloween 🎃

Each year over 2000 tonnes of plastic waste is produced from "disposable" Halloween outfits (research from Hubbub a UK based environmental charity). More is wasted with 18 million pumpkins thrown away annually (global citizen.org), with only 1/3 of consumers cooking with what is left over after carving. Millions of sweets are purchased each year, each wrapped in hard to recycle/unrecyclable packaging that takes hundreds of years to decompose releasing microplastics into the environment.

Do you have any plans for zero waste week? I'm revamping my garden next Spring and in preparation i'm going to plant seeds this week to go in a cold frame over winter instead of buying ready made plants in plastic pots. 💚

The kit returned from it's first outing to Dundee today with great feedback after being used for a 5 year olds birthday party. That's another 100+ single use items saved from landfill!

It's next party was booked today closer to home in Fife but there is still some availability for August so get in touch if you are planning a party.

47,836 and counting! 🥳

Each year we count up the number of single-use items avoided through hires of our members’ party kits.

Despite many kits being closed for all or part of the last year we have still managed to log over 47k items so far.

That’s 47,836 plates, cups, bowls and cutlery that were NOT thrown away because people switched to reusables. 💚👍

Isn’t that amazing?! 🤩

The party kit concept is still fairly new and reusable tableware is not yet the norm, but this just shows our potential to reduce waste. So we’re keeping the faith and looking forward to smashing that total in 2022.

We tested out the kit yesterday in the garden. It was one of those surprisingly simple but memorable moments that can bring families closer after a busy few days. We put on some dancing tunes and played with the parachute. Clean up afterwards was quick in the dishwasher and totally zero waste.

Hi my name is Emma, welcome to Party Kit Fife, which I have set up at home near Cupar. I`m passionate about reducing waste but also have young children so I know how challenging that can be.

I found the Party Kit Network, which we are now members of, after researching zero waste options online for my daughters birthday. Their party kits, set up independently worldwide provide everything you need to for a colourful fun-filled party without the waste.

Ready for hire locally (collection from my house or free local delivery) I have a lovely selection of tableware, pass the parcel bags, bunting, a parachute, jugs, serving platters and tablecloths.

I`ll add more information and photos over the next few days, but welcome and I hope to meet some keen party organisers soon.
