Well hello! Its been a minute, huh?

Claire and I had the absolute honour of being a part of The Marshalls' Big day yesterday, and what an amazing day it was!

Lots of catch ups with the happy couple in the run up to make sure everything was coming along nicely and answer any questions they had. We can't take much credit for the organisation and DIY, Becca and Dan did an amazing job of putting it all together! We just provided a guiding hand along the way.

On Friday we were there to put it all together with the couple and their friends and family who turned out to help and we got it all knocked out in no time. Many hands make light work as they say! Being in a village hall there was lots of DIY involved (my favourite kind of wedding!) and we put together their arch, put covers on chairs and set out tables, as well as all the incredible decor that Dan and his Dad had made including the sweet stand, seating chart, order of the day and even the huge LOVE letters!!

And yesterday we were generally on hand for anything the happy couple or their guests may need! My magic bag of tricks (hello spray on suncream and little plastic things that go over heels to aid walking on grass) went over very well! We also had to return a gate crashing dog to its owner 🤣 and I had to use my big girl voice to announce the couple (may need some practice there but we got there!)

We didn't stop all day whether we were refilling water jugs (it was a scorcher!), chasing dogs, collecting empties or just trying to be on hand (without hovering ominously!) and were blown away to receive these huge bunches of flowers, aren't they gorgeous?! We received some wonderful feedback from guests 🥰

As you may know, P&P aren't taking on any new weddings currently due to changes with our 'day jobs 'but we had such a blast we're hopeful that maybe one day we'll be able to make a proper go of it so if you were at the wedding yesterday and would like to leave us a review please do. If we do start up again down the line it will mean we won't be starting from scratch 🥰

Due to some changes in my personal circumstances I have taken the difficult decision to close Parchment & Posy.

This will not affect any clients already booked but unfortunately means I won't be taking on any clients who haven't already paid a deposit.

What's one piece of wedding advice that stuck with you?

For me, it was to take time for just the 2 of us. Photos are a nice way to do this but there were also a few snatched moments here and there where it truly was just the 2 of us and we could breathe and take a pause in the magical chaos of the day! How will/did you take time out for just the 2 of you on your wedding day?

I had a wonderful consultation this morning with the lovely Becca & Dan who are getting married in May next year. It was a nice to change to meet face to face too!

We had a lovely, positive chat about all their plans for the big day. They've got most things well under way already but are looking for someone to manage the on-the-day coordination. It was great to chat through everything they've sorted so far, which really helps me understand all the little details, and is helpful for the couple to talk it through and picture it all together.

I'm really looking forward to my next catch up with Dan and Becca and to helping make sure their day runs smoothly!

How's that for a first review?! 👊👊 It was an absolute pleasure creating 2 style proposals for this lovely couple to take ideas and inspiration from. I include lots of detail and it's always fully customised to you based on your answers to my questionnaire.

The bride to be was particularly keen to make sure the wedding didn't look dated in a few years time so both proposals included lots of tips to help there!

There's now a shop function on the website where you can purchase some of those on the day essentials. The first product on there is these gorgeous agate slices that can double as place names and favours and add a real wow factor to your table scapes! Maybe you don't live in the area and want some help finding suppliers? Or you want me to be your primary contact for suppliers and call them 6 weeks before the big day to make sure everything is running smoothly and to the same schedule?

For £500 (which is only £250 this month!!) you can get your initial free consultation, followed by a more in depth 1-2 hour consultation to really pin point what you need help with, and then up to 15 hours of work doing whatever you need to get everything sorted for your big day!

I knew I'd passed my Level 3 Wedding Planning Diploma but was waiting on 2 outstanding assessments to determine my final grade and am delighted to say I maintained my 100% streak, passing with a distinction
